Chapter 1 Part 2

When Haruko, Gion, and Iwashimizu arrived at the field, Hachiojij left them to go change into his rugby uniform. Out on the field, there were male students wearing black polos and white polos with alternating shorts standing around. The three of them stood behind a fence near the field watching them.

"So what is "rugby" exactly?" Gion asked.

"What? You don't even know that?" Iwashimizu turned to Gion surprised.

"In his defense, our old school didn't have rugby as a sport." Haruko pointed out.

Hachioji, changed into the same clothing as the other people on the field heard the conversation and laughed. "A complete beginner, huh?"

"Tell them about the game, Iwashimizu." He said walking onto the field.

Gion, irritated at him, jumped onto the fence with his feet and hands cling onto the wire. "Don't get the wrong idea! I only came to watch, I'm not joining your team."

"You say that now Gion..." Haruko said. "But I know you."

"Shut up Haruko!" He turn to her before turning back to the field.

"That's fine too." Hachioji said. "But, Gion-kun, rugby's pretty fun. Once you start playing, you never get it out of your head. And anyone can be the star of the team"

"The star?" Gion's eyes glimmer at those words.

"Just watch, okay." Hachioji said before walking over to the rest of the students.

Haruko grabbed Gion by his shoulders pulling him off the fence. "Don't cling on the fence, get down."

"Okay okay." Gion said giving in to his friend.

Gion placed one foot onto the ground before turning to Iwashimizu who has been quiet since arriving at the field. "Hey, Tree Trunk. Explain the rules to me."

Iwashimizu, not expecting Gion's request looked at him surprised. "What? Umm..."

"Sorry, Iwashimizu-san..." Haruko spoke up. "But it would help us understand the game more if we knew how to play."

"Oh...Okay." Iwashimizu nodded.

As the three turned over to the field, they see Hachioji holding onto a ball that was similarly shaped like a football, expect it was white with blue and orange outlines and had the worlds GILBERI written on it.

"What's wrong with that ball?" Gion pointed at it. "It's not even round."

"It's shape is closely similar to a football." Haruko added.

Iwashimizu turned to the two surprised. "What? You two didn't even know that?"

"Remember Iwashimizu-san, we came to this having no knowledge, it's to be expected that we don't even know that ball as well." Haruko said.

"But..." Iwashimizu began to say.

But Gion interrupted him as he spoke. "Huh? Something's starting."

The two beginners looked over to see that all the members were wearing the white helmets split evenly on each side of the field. Currently the ball is held by someone with the white polo.

"Oh yeah." Iwashimizu said. "Looks like they're having a practice match."

The match begins with the person holding the ball dropping it and kicking it up in the air to the other side with someone on the other side catching it as they begin to run to the other side.

"Are the rules like soccer?" Gion asked.

"Y-Yeah. You have to run the ball past the goalpost on either end of the field." Iwashimizu explained.
