Once again, Jacob woke with a jolt. Once again, the cause of this was the doorbell. It was 5:30 in the evening and after buying his coffee, Jacob walked home and unsurprisingly fell asleep.

"Alright! I'm coming!" he screamed when the doorbell rang for what he presumed to be the hundredth time.

"Are you okay?" asked Courtney the moment the door was open.

"I'm fine" he replied.

"Are you sur-"

'God.' He thought, fighting the urge to roll his eyes. How many times did she plan on waking him up this week? "I said I'm fine Courtney."

Courtney opened her mouth to speak then closed it, deciding against what she was going to say, instead looking down at her shoes.

"Come in" said Jacob with a sigh, slightly calmer now.

"You weren't answering your phone" she said as soon as the door was closed, talking fast. "I got worried."

"I was sleeping." replied Jacob.

"Oh." There was a moments silence before she spoke again. "Why are you so angry lately?" she asked.

The silence lasted much longer this time; Jacob wasn't one to talk about his feelings or problems. He preferred to keep to himself but he felt like, this; she deserved to know. She was after all his girlfriend of three months and also his friend for another three on top of that. With that thought in mind Jacob broke the silence.

"Exactly two years ago on the 26th of March, I lost someone very important to me. Her name was Jezebel."

"Was she your girlfriend?" Courtney asked hesitantly.

'She's so shallow' thought Jacob, mentally rolling his eyes before replying. "She was my twin sister" he paused before adding "she committed suicide and the worst part is; we don't even know why. She always seemed so happy."

Courtney had trouble finding words to respond after what the boy had revealed, instead moving in and wrapping her arms around him tightly before placing a kiss on his neck.

"You have a point to be upset" she whispered. "I'm sorry; I should've figured something important was going on"

They sat cuddled up in silence, until Jacob eventually fell asleep again, with troubled thoughts.

Two days had passed before Jacob calmed down. He walked through the school doors on time (for once) ready to make it up to all the people he'd treated like crap the past two weeks. Smiling when he saw a familiar face, Jacob walked over to the girl looking into her locker; leaning against the one next to hers.

"Hey Samantha" he smiled at her.

Samantha turned to look at the boy with a polite smile on her lips.

"Jacob" she nodded.

"How are you?"

"I'm fine" she replied, turning back to her locker. "And you?"

Jacob ignored the question, raising his eyebrow slightly. "Just fine?" he asked.

"Just fine." She replied, looking back at him questioningly.

Jacob studied her for a second, looking deep into her eyes. Before he had a chance to say something an over-exaggerated girly screech filled their ears.
