brownies for breakfast seemed like a good idea. at least, it didn't stop taehyung from opening the box of leftovers from last night and grabbing the strawberries from the fridge. he got back in bed so quick with a new pair of socks and a bottle of lemonade to wash down his meal.
taehyung was usually the first to wake up in their apartment. both his roommates were night owls, but for different reasons. while one sat up and worked on intensely impressive projects of production, the other would either watch the older be productive or just stay up not doing much of anything.
last night was a little different, since taehyung could hear jimin on facetime with someone. yoongi might have actually gone to sleep early.
the boy shoved a whole strawberry into him mouth, chewing while opening the top of his laptop. he's not sure what he'd do today, not really in the mood to film something or anything else. there wasn't an organized posting schedule on his channel, it was whenever he felt like it which ended up being a few times a week on random days.
he felt it kept his viewers waiting expectantly in a good way since something was definitely coming. just a matter of which day.
as a youtuber himself, taehyung liked to support other fellow creators. there were several channels he watched and followed and continuously reached out to even just to say how much he liked a recent post. taehyung and jimin also tried to go to every convention or gathering that they could, even smaller ones only in korea.
this morning seemed like a lazy one, with multiple videos on his to do list to watch. taehyung ate another strawberry and a bite of brownie at the same time, making sure to get a good portion of both. "let's see what's trending." he said to himself, a soft mumble obscured by the pastry.
there were the usual videos on the trending page, music videos and apology videos and maybe occasionally an actually decently film one with effort and genuine interest in the content being filmed.
there was one at number two, an unfamiliar name but faces that taehyung knew. the little wrinkles between his eyebrows came with confusion, looking at his best friend and the pet store guy sitting in a nicely displayed room on a set of gamer chairs.
tea ft. tiny.
that's all it was titled. taehyung clicked on the video and frowned at the ad, but watched it through anyways and enjoyed the last of his brownie. there was a couple left that he was still debating on eating or leaving them for his roommates.
"oh wow wow." jimins voice came through his headphones, his hands clapping and the camera zooming in on the boys face. "cheers." the other guys said, holding up a mug with fuck off written across the front in pink letters.
it was a mess of clips working as an intro, and taehyung blinked while he watched.
"welcome back." the actual video started.
"we're back baby." jimin said. "and we're feeling saucy today." jimin seemed like he was doing most of the talking, or at least right now. it wasn't even his channel, then again he did he same in a lot of taehyungs videos too.
"the chat is already going crazy." the other guy was saying, dressed in a baggy hoodie with the sleeves pulled over his knuckles. the hood was up, covering messy hair that still hung over his eyes. he had to keep tossing it to the side and taehyung wondered if his neck ever started to hurt from doing that. "i don't know why you're talking like we've done this before." he looked over at jimin who innocently shrugged.
"we have." jimin said, "we've just never filmed it. so technically this is the first time they'll be seeing us doing it."
taehyung ate another strawberry and turned up the volume a little more.
"anyways, we're going to hanging with you guys and the chat and talking about whatever." the raven haired male explained. he was sitting back in the chair, elbows on the arm rest and his fingers laced together to rest on his stomach.
jimin swayed back and forth in his chair, looking off to the side and most likely at the busy chat. "it's going fast." he laughed a little and tried to read faster to catch something. "how's your hamster kook, someone's asking."
"oh he's doing good," this was the first time the other guy moved, sitting up enough to turn and look off to somewhere off camera. probably the hamster.
"one time i was thinking of getting a hamster." jimin started to say, earning both the attention of the ravenette and everyone else watching. "and then switching it with yours to see how long it would take for you to notice." he was smiling, thinking he was so cute and funny at the same time.
the guy, kook, just blinked. "that's so fucked up. stay away from him." he said. "have you ever had your head examined? what's even in there, poptarts?"
"bro i wish." jimin was even offended at the dig, he never was. it was all friendly banter that he took notes on, adding to the assault he'd throw back one of these days.
taehyung continued to watch and snack on berries, not even aware how into the video he was. the boys were just talking and making jokes, teasing the other and answering questions from the chat. some of the things that jimins friend said had taehyung pausing, contemplating how he could go that far. technically he wasn't wrong, but it was usually comments taehyung or other people wouldn't say out loud thanks to sensitive souls ready to attack anyone with an opinion.
"and that's my opinion so it's fact." the guy said, ending the topic on whether or not a certain youtuber bleeds his fans dry with shitty merch probably made in sweatshops.
taehyung found himself giggling sometimes, and then shocked at others by the lack of filter. it was kind of refreshing almost, the lack of censoring and not a millions cuts to take things out. the two were only talking and being genuine, not an act for a video to get views.
it didn't stop at one video, not as taehyung fell down a spiraling hole on this guys channel and watching everything even from months back.
everything about it seemed appealing, from the simple thumbnails to even simpler titles. nothing was meant to catch people's attention, only the actual content once someone started to watch. it happened to taehyung, he's never heard of this guy before and now he was hours in on a binge.
the only thing that stopped him was his best friend nearly kicking down the door to find the brownies. taehyung smiled closing the top of his laptop and looking down at the empty box. he had been too distracted to see he ate the last of them.
