there was still that faint bakery smell in the apartment, mixed with too many air fresheners that the eldest brought over after spending way too much money at the fragrance shop during one of their holiday sales. jin continued to spray around the room while also adjusting the wall plug-ins for maximum scent distribution.

"these are definitely better." namjoon said, currently on his third real cookie. taehyung smiled and felt the pride that comes with good baking and someone enjoying it.

"leave some for the rest of us." jimin said. he walked over, reaching across his hyung to steal a stack of the cookies. he already had a tupperware in the other hand, carefully stacking some cookies inside and ignoring the look namjoon shot his way for stealing the sweets. "you've had enough." jimin shot back, but he kissed the mans cheek to make his words sound sweeter.

"stop that." hoseok pointed at them, "germs." he narrowed his eyes, only smiling again when his boyfriend came bouncing around the island to stand by his side. "you get two." jimin said, standing up on his toes to kiss both of hoseok's cheeks.

"who's that for?" hoseok asked, one arm around the shorter boys shoulder. he gestured to the cookies and saw jimin look down at them too. "they're for jungkook." he said, "i feel bad that he couldn't make it tonight." it was strange to have everyone hanging out on a friday night, everyone but one.

"do you need a ride?" his boyfriend offered it sweetly, still keeping his arm around the youngers shoulder in a side hug. jimin shook his head and kissed hoseoks cheek once more, "no, you stay and hang out. i'll be back in an hour or so." he told him.

no one else noticed the small blonde leave, not as he held the cookies to his chest and headed for the door. It was cold out now as the sun had set, a chilly breeze blowing past jimins cheeks as he left his apartment building and headed down the sidewalk. he knew the path well, only needing to look up a few times to avoid bumping into other bodies walking on the sidewalk.

it was only just past midnight once jimin made it up the stairs and down the hall, taking turns tucking each hand in his coat pocket to warm it up while the other still held onto the cookies.

jimin knocked, rocking back and forth slightly on his feet while he waited for the door to open. when it did, he was expecting to see his friend looking like that ⏤ like he hasn't slept in days. it was the mess of his long hair and the subtle bags under his empty eyes that showed it.

"what are you doing here." jungkook asked. he had his hand on the door, body blocking any sight into the apartment.

"i brought cookies." jimin extended the tupperware, seeing the way his friend simply looked down at it and then back up at the shorter blonde.

the ravenette recognized them, considering he's seen photos and posts about them all night. he wasn't dumb, he knew every well where they all were and that it seemed to be a great night that he wasn't a part of. "alright." was all jungkook said.
