Ella - Good morning, mother.  - She came down the stairs and stopped beside her mother facing the mirror, her mother stopped applying the gloss and looked at Ella.
Alisson - Your coach told me something interesting last night.
Ella's blood froze.  Yesterday after the performance Ella came home and her mother was gone, so she went up to her room and fell asleep.  She should have known that Sue wasn't going to let things go.
Alisson— Coral club?  I thought we agreed that you would only be part of the Cherrios.  - But what Alisson did not know was that Ella was not only part of the cherrios but also of the theater classes.
Ella - But I can do both and still get good grades.
Alisson— It's not just the notes, Ella.  You know I can't stand this kind of art: music, theater, dance and whatever, they don't take you anywhere.  These artists only think about exposing themselves.
Ella - But I like to sing, I like to dance and I don't understand why you won't let me do what I like.
Alisson - I want a future for you, Ella.
The expression on Alisson's face did not soften, on the contrary it got worse.  Ella had never been in front of her mother.  He never questioned and always obeyed.
Becca was the only one who knew that Ella studied until she fell asleep tired, that she participated in all the high school clubs to get credits for college and was the only one that knew that this armor around her was because she had never received an I love you from  mother or father that she doesn't even know who she is.  The perfect daughter was not perfect, but no one could know that.
Alisson - You are leaving the choir club today.  - That said she put her gloss in her purse and left the house.

☆☆☆☆

Jenny - Ella is not present for a change.
They were all in the choir room waiting for Rachel to arrive and give instructions for this week.
Becca— How jealous, Jenny.  - Becca replied smiling and Jenny grimaced.
Aimeh - I don't go much with the blonde face there, - He said referring to Jenny - but she is right, Ella has not given due importance to the choir.
     Val— She's busy.
Jess "If you're going to be part of a club, at least have time for that," he said, rolling his eyes.  Ashley nodded in agreement.
Becca - You would all thank God if she didn't participate, because just like that for Rachel to notice you - Becca pointed to all the girls in the room except Val.
Jenny - We better stop girls, Becca is getting mad because we offend her girlfriend.  - It was no secret that Becca was a lesbian.
Val— That was homophobia.  - She screamed the minute she held Becca who was ready to hit her.  While Aimeh grimaced at her comment.
Becca— Let me go, I will end her race.  - Becca struggled in the arms of Val and Aimeh who went to help her.
Rachel— What else is going on here?  - Rachel was surprised to find the room in that state.  The girls turned to Rachel and stopped screaming, but Val was still holding Becca.  - Can someone explain to me?
Chloe - I didn't do anything. - She raised her hands in surrender.  Getting angry looks from the other girls.
Jenny - This crazy woman who came at me because I talked about her precious Ella.
Becca tried to go after her again.
Rachel - Enough!  - Rachel shouted causing everyone to stop again and look scared.  - Everyone sits down.
They all sat down and it was at that moment that Ella entered the room.
Ella - Sorry I'm late I had a family problem ... - She was interrupted by Rachel.
Rachel - Never mind, sit down - Rachel ordered and Ella went to sit with a question mark on her face, she looked at Becca who just gave a weak smile.  - You should be a team, a team.  They should support each other and not be arguing and hitting each other.
Jenny and Becca looked at each other.
Ella - Did I miss it?  - Ella said laughing.
Aimeh - Don't worry you were the reason for the fight.
     Ella was even more confused.
Rachel - I didn't say they could talk - They all stopped immediately.  - Do you know what the problem with this room is?  You don't know each other, other than small trio, you don't try to know each other.  This is not how we are going to win the sectionals.  - Rachel walked around the room and looked at each of the girls - This is the task for this week, you will show your feelings with a song.  Choose a song that suits you best and perform in front of the class.
Ella - Really?  Do we go back to preschool where we always have to perform on the first day of school?
Rachel - Very serious.  If I had done that in the first week with you, maybe I wouldn't have to break up a fight. - the bell rang and the girls were already leaving, Jenny and Becca faced each other, until Jenny looked down.  Ella remained in the room to speak to Rachel.  - Yes?
Ella - Coach Sylvester went out to talk to my mom last night - She started.  Ella didn't know what she was doing, but she wanted to stay in the choir and for that she needed Rachel to know about her mother's ultimatum, maybe she could help.
     Rachel - To say what?
Ella - Remember when you said the first time we talked that I didn't want to join your club because I was pathetic?
Rachel - You didn't speak with those words, but you did.
Ella - The truth is that my mother hates all of this - She said referring to the school - she didn't know about me being in the choir and the coach told her, she was not happy.  She wants me to leave.
Rachel - And what do you want?  - A simple question that Ella had no idea of the answer.  She was silent thinking about the answer.
Ella - I felt alive when I sang in front of everyone at school, it was a different feeling than all the others, it was ... electrifying.  I don't want to leave the choir club, but I can't disobey my mother.
Rachel - I won't make you stay, I know I did it to get you in, but now it's up to you to decide.
Ella thought for a while before saying.
Ella - I'm staying - Ella just didn't know how to convince her mother.  Rachel smiled and hugged her, which made Ella flinch in surprise, but then returned it.  - You were late too, right?  - Rachel nodded - Why?
Rachel - It took me a while to find things in my numerous boxes distributed around my apartment.
Ella agreed and they left the room together.

☆☆☆☆

Alec and the other players were in the locker room when Ella entered, some boys shouted "hey" when they saw her, but she ignored it and went towards Alec who was looking into the closet with only a towel wrapped around her.
Ella - Who gave you permission to tell other people about my life?  - Ella knew he was the one who told Coach Sylvester about her being in troubletones.
Alec - I don't know what you're talking about - He was misunderstood which made Ella even more furious and closed the closet tightly, almost holding his hand inside - Ouuo - He finally looked at her.
Ella - Next time I don't have time to take it off - she points her head at his hand and leaves the locker room.
Connor - She doesn't like you, bro.
     Alec - I like a challenge.
Alec and Connor were the darlings of the girls, players, rich, beautiful and popular.
They walked out of the locker room together after changing into the New Directions room.  Connor was not the best singer, but he was a good dancer.
Inside the room were Matt, Jay and Kevin.
Jay - Did you hear that the girls were fighting this morning?  - He commented laughing.
   Connor— Don't joke.
Jay - It seems that the new student does not go much with the face of inseparable - that was the nickname for Val, Becca and Ella, because they were always together no matter what.
Kevin - Is this new student the one who carried a cup of coffee on her head?
     Jay— That's right.
Alec - Then it's the girls who are gossips.  - He commented laughing.
Matt - She is a cat.
Connor - And Ella's enemy - Connor commented looking at Alec who soon understood what he meant.  If he approached Jenny it would make Ella jealous, he was popular and anyone who approached him could easily be popular and this will make Ella feel threatened by losing her place at the top of the pyramid.
Kevin - Can we rehearse the song to present to Mr. Evans?
Jay— Send it.  - Jay told Kevin he had the guitar and Matt on the drums.

     Kevin— We go together
Better than birds of a feather, you and me
We change the weather, yeah
I'm feeling heat in December when you're 'round me

Jay— I've been dancing on top of cars and stumbling out of bars
I follow you through the dark, can't get enough
You're the medicine and the pain, the tattoo inside my brain
And, baby, you know it's obvious

At that moment there was already a pile of girls at the door looking into the room.  One of them was little Jenny.  Alec realized that she didn't take her eyes off him, so he went to her and sang.

Alec— I'm a sucker for you
You say the word and I'll go anywhere blindly
I'm a sucker for you, yeah
Any road you take you know that you'll find me
I'm a sucker for all the subliminal things
No one knows about you (about you), about you (about you)
And you're making the typical me
Break my typical rules
It's true, I'm a sucker for you, yeah

Jenny looked at him in delight.  Then he turned and went back to the boys.

Kevin— I've been dancing on top of cars and stumbling out of bars
I follow you through the dark, can't get enough
You're the medicine and the pain, the tattoo inside my brain
And, baby, you know it's obvious

Matt, Jay and Alec— I'm a sucker for you, yeah
You say the word and I'll go anywhere blindly
I'm a sucker for you, yeah
Any road you take you know that you'll find me
I'm a sucker for all the subliminal things
No one knows about you (about you), about you (about you)
And you're making the typical me
Break my typical rules
It's true, I'm a sucker for you
I'm a sucker for you

The troubletones were all sitting in silence in the choir room, besides the sound of breathing, nothing was heard.  Rachel was sitting in a chair on the left side.
Rachel - Okay, does anyone have anything ready yet?
Aimeh— Me - Rachel nodded for her to go to the front of the room.
      Rachel— When you're ready.
Then Aimeh gave the band across the room a thumbs up.

Aimeh— Flippin 'through all these magazines
Tellin 'me who I'm supposed to be
Way too good at camouflage
Can't see what I am, I just see what I'm not
I'm guilty 'bout everything that I eat (every single thing)
Feelin 'myself is a felony
Jedi level sabotage
Voices in my head make up my entourage

'Cause I'm a black belt when I'm beating up on myself
But I'm an expert at giving love to somebody else
I, me, myself and I don't see eye to eye
Me, myself and I
Oh, why do I compare myself to everyone?
And I always got my finger on the self-destruct
I wonder when I love me is enough (yeah, yeah, yeah)
I wonder when I love me is enough (yeah, yeah, yeah)
Why am I always looking for a ride or die?
'Cause mine's the only heart I'm gonna have for life
After all the times I went and fucked it up (all the times I went and fucked it up)
I wonder when I love me is enough, mmm (yeah, yeah, yeah)

(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) yeah
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) I wonder when I love me is enough
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) I wonder when I love me is enough

I'm my own worst critic, talk a whole lot of shit
But I'm a ten out of ten even when I forget
I, I, I, I, I (I'm a ten out of ten, don't you ever forget it)
I'm my own worst critic, talk a whole lot of shit
But I'm a ten out of ten, even when I forget (hey, oh)
I, I, I, I, I (yeah)

Yeah, yeah (yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) yeah, yeah
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) I wonder when I love me is enough
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah) I wonder when I love me is enough
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah)

All the girls applauded along with Rachel.
Aimeh - I was fat until I was thirteen, I suffered a lot of bullying, because besides that I am black.  I ate because my parents were breaking up and I hated that, I ate because of stress, when I moved here with my mom, things got better, I learned that eating was not the solution and I started to love myself.  And I'm fabulous - they all smiled at her as she went to sit again, Ella looked at her and smiled amiably, with understanding.  Aimeh smiled back.
When the bell rang Ella held Becca so she could stay in the room for a while longer.  She waited for all the girls to come out to speak.
Ella - You are the person who knows me most at this school - Becca agreed - Our relationship is complicated because of me.  Living in hiding is not cool, and I'm sorry for making you go through this.
Becca - I know you feel.  - They were silent for a while - I thought we could sing a song.
Ella - In front of everyone?
Becca - No, just for us.  I was going to sing it as a task but I think it makes more sense if we sing together. - Then Becca went to the piano and started playing.  Ella followed and sat down beside her.
Becca— When you hold me in the street
And you kiss me on the dancefloor
I wish that it could be like that
Why can't it be like that?
Cause I'm yours

Ella— We keep behind closed doors
Every time I see you I die a little more
Stolen moments that we steal as the curtain falls
It'll never be enough

It's obvious you're meant for me
Every piece of you it just fits perfectly
Every second, every thought
I'm in so deep
But I'll never show it on my face

Ella sang, and remembered all the looks in the trainings of the cherrios, the exchanged smiles.  And the many times they kissed in secret from everyone.

Becca and Ella— But we know this
We got a love that is homeless

Why can't you hold me in the street?
Why can't I kiss you on the dancefloor?
I wish that it could be like that
Why can't we be like that?
Cause I'm yours

Becca— When you're with him do you call his name?
Like you do when you're with me
Does it feel the same?
Would you leave if I was ready to settle down?
Or would you play it safe and stay?

Becca and Ella— Girl you know this
We got a love that is hopeless

Why can't you hold me in the street?
Why can't I kiss you on the dancefloor?
I wish that it could be like that
Why can't we be like that?
Cause I'm yours

         Ella— And nobody knows
I'm in love with someone's baby

Becca— I don't wanna hide us away
Tell the world about the love we makin '
I'm living for that day, someday

Ella— Can't I hold you in the street?
Why can't I kiss you on the dancefloor?
I wish that we could be like that
Why can't we be like that?
Cause I'm yours, I'm yours

Becca and Ella— Oh, why can't you hold me in the street?
Why can't I kiss you on the dancefloor?
I wish that it could be like that (I wish)
Why can't it be like that?  (I wish)
Cause I'm yours (cause I'm yours)

Why can't I say that I'm in love?
I wanna shout it from the rooftops
I wish that it could be like that (I wish)
Why can't we be like that?
Cause I'm yours

Why can't we be like that?
Wish we could be like that
They finished the song close, you could feel the breath mixing.  Then Ella put her hands behind Becca's head and pulled her close.  It was a calm kiss with a lot of feeling.  Ella felt guilty for being afraid to tell the world that she was Bisexual and Becca understood that, but she hated to keep things a secret.

Sam— Are you late again?  - Sam asked as soon as Rachel entered the teachers' room.
Rachel - Yeah - She sat down with him and is Coach Beiste.  Beiste changed sex years ago. - I haven't opened all the boxes yet.
Sam - I said you could stay with me.
Rachel - That would just postpone the inevitable.  - Rachel looked at Beiste's food. What is that?
Beiste - Macaroni with cheese and chicken - Rachel made a face at the food and put her hands in her mouth.
Rachel - How can you eat this? - She said after she managed to control herself and not throw up.
Sam— I ask that question every day.
Beiste - It keeps me strong to train those boys.  - Sam and Rachel nodded.  - I heard about your girls' fight.
Rachel - Sometimes I forget how gossip runs wild in this school.
Sam- Is everything okay with them?
        Rachel - Everything about control.

☆☆☆☆

Val - You should have seen - Val laughed with Ella after telling Ella about the quarrel. - She looked like me.
Becca - Don't overdo it, it doesn't even compare to the things you've already done.
Ella - Yeah, she hasn't been arrested yet for stealing glasses from the mall or getting drunk at the Christmas party.
Val— First I almost got arrested— Val emphasized the word “almost” - and second, I'm just enjoying my teenage years. - The two girls laughed and Val glared at them and laughed shortly afterwards- Hey - She nudged them both for  look in the direction you were pointing - Is it Jenny with Alec?
Ella - Yes, it is.  What are they doing together?
      Becca - It's not a good thing.
Alec said something and Jenny agreed, he turned and came towards the Cherrios.
Alec— Girls. - He nodded and left until Ella took his arm.
Ella— What are you up to?
Alec - Nothing, I only have a date after class - he winked at her and left.  Ella looked again at Jenny, who was smiling, she started walking towards him, followed by Becca and Val.
Ella - You can't go out with him - she said, making Becca look at him with a little bit of jealousy - He's already gone out with everyone you can imagine little Jenny, he doesn't want anything serious with you.
Jenny - You are only saying this because you are afraid of losing another puppy that lives running after you.
Becca - We are just trying to help you.
Val— Let her break her face alone.
Ella - Then don't say we didn't warn you.

☆☆☆☆

Alec and Jenny were sitting on her bed as they kissed.  When Alec laid her on the bed and climbed on top of her without stopping the kiss, Jenny's heart raced.
Jenny - Alec - She said When he lowered the kisses to her neck - We can't.
Alec - Why?  He asked as he continued with the kisses.
Jenny - Because I ... - She stopped talking and sighed when he kissed her mouth on her again.  - If we're going to do that, I need you to be alone with me.  - Those words made Alec stop kissing her and face her
      Alec- What?
Jenny - Ella and company told me that you just want to have sex with me.
Alec - They said yes - She nodded - Well, I want you - That said he kissed her again and Jenny didn't try to stop this time.

                                 ☆☆☆☆☆☆

The boys were talking in the hall when Jenny arrived at school.  Alec smiled at her as she practically ran to stand beside him.
Jenny - Hi - She tried to kiss him, but he backed away.
Alec - What are you doing?
Jenny - Kissing my boyfriend - Alec laughed just like the other boys there.  From a distance, the cherrios looked at the scene with pity.  - What did I say that was so funny?
      Alec— That we're dating.
Jenny - That's what you said yesterday.
Alec - No, I would never say that - Jenny has never felt so humiliated as she does now.  - You should know that, Jenny.
Jenny left there and when she passed Cherrios she spoke
      Jenny - Happy?
Becca - We tried to tell you it was you who didn't want to hear.  - It wasn't a criticism, her tone was consoling, pitying.  The four walked together to the choir room.  Jenny knew she was guilty of it all.
In the choir room, Rachel was surprised to see them enter together, as did the other girls.
Rachel - Let's continue with the introductions - She looked at the girls - Who is it now?
Jenny - Me.- She stood up and faced the rest of the room.
Jenny— Just a young gun with a quick fuse
I was uptight, wanna let loose
I was dreaming of bigger things
And wanna leave my own life behind
Not a: Yes sir, not a follower
Fit the box, fit the mold
Have a seat in the foyer, take a number
I was lightning before the thunder

Thunder, thunder
Thunder, thun-, thunder

Kids were laughing in my classes
While I was scheming for the masses
Who do you think you are?
Dreaming 'bout being a big star
You say you're basic, you say you're easy
You're always riding in the back seat
Now I'm smiling from the stage while
You were clapping in the nosebleeds

Thunder, thunder, thun-, thunder
Thun-thun-thunder, thunder
Thunder, thunder, thun-, thunder
Thun-thun-thunder, thunder

         They all applauded.
Jenny - My family moves a lot.  I never made friends, because it was easier to change cities or countries when nobody is left behind.  I am not good with relationships or I want too much or too little.  This is the first time that I know that I will be in a city for a whole year and I arrived attacking everyone and being a totally different person from who I really am, I got tired of being alone, tired of being hated and hating everyone.  Becca - She came face to face with her - I'm sorry.
Becca— Me too— She referred to the countless changes she had to make, for a life of solitude.  They embraced.
Val - How cute - She said going to join the hug, causing all the other girls in the room to do the same.  Rachel smiled at the scene.
Chloe - You know someone is missing. - Everyone looked at Rachel.
Rachel - No, this is not your moment - as soon as she finished speaking the girls were already wrapping her up in a hug.  She just laughed.  - Okay, I love you too.

Rachel was arriving at the apartment when she saw the door open.  She entered fearfully and stopped in place when she saw the scene.  All the girls were unpacking things and putting them back.
       Rachel - What's going on?
Ella - You told me you were arriving late because you couldn't find things in the boxes, so the girls and I decided to help you.
Rachel - How did you get in here?
Ella - When we hugged I stole the key from your pocket.
Rachel laughed and started packing things up too.
Jenny - Packing things up is more fun with music, don't you think?
She went to her cell phone and chose one.

Jenny— He was a famous trumpet man from out chicago way

As soon as they recognized the song, they all sang together including Rachel.

All— He had a boogie style that no one else could play
He was the top man at his craft
But then his number came up and he was gone with the draft
He's in the army now.  He's blowin 'reveille
He's the boogie woogie bugle boy of company b

Aimeh— Oh, you can't hurry love
No, you just have to wait
She said, love don't come easy
It's a game of give and take

       Asheley— Now break!

All— Hey sister, go sister, soul sister, flow sister

Giuchie, giuchie, ya ya dada (hey hey hey)
Giuchie, giuchie, ya ya here
Mocha chocalata ya ya

         Rachel— Creole lady marmalade

All — Dubidap by umbap dubidap

And now it's time for a breakdown
Never gonna get it

         Ella— Ohhhh

        All— Never gonna get it

As soon as they finished singing they laughed, everyone's cell phone blew and everyone looked at each other with a question mark on their face, then they went to look at the phone.  Ella was shocked by the photo in which she had been tagged.  There were tears forming in his eyes.  She looked at Becca who was stunned and then at the other girls who gaped.  Rachel, looked at what was on Aimeh's cell phone and looked at Ella with understanding.
The photo was she and Becca sitting at the piano kissing and it seems that a lot of people had already seen it.
