Will— Rachel… Sam thanks for coming so quickly.
It was the beginning of a sunny morning when Sam and Rachel had received a call from Mr. Shue to go to his office as soon as they arrived.
It was Rachel's first week with the girls, the first week that they really would be a team.  She was euphoric.
Will— This is the second week of class and as you know, it is customary for us to hold a welcoming meeting for the students.  Well, I want the two corals to perform.
Sam - Well New Directions are already prepared.
Rachel - My girls will be there too.
Sam - You have nine girls and you need twelve - Sam gave a winning smile.
Rachel - I can get three more until the presentation.
Will— Great, then we are agreed.
Sam and Rachel got up and left the principal's office and passed the office in silence.  They were in the hall when Sam said:
       Sam- Can we talk?
Rachel— Sure.  - They entered the New Directions choir room.  - What do you want to talk about?
     Sam - Us.
Rachel was silent.  It was no secret that they were together, but they didn't talk about their status.  It was a subject that Rachel avoided, because she knows that in a while she will have to go back to New York, go back to the stage, that was her passion.
Rachel - Sam, you know I'm not going to stop here, and you know that long-distance relationships don't work.  That's why you and Mercedes broke up.
Sam- And while you're here?  You are going to stay at mine each and we will have sex whenever we want, but can we also go out with other people?
Rachel - Do you want to go out with other people?
     Sam— Don't change the subject.
     Rachel started pacing.
Rachel— Being friends with benefits.  We will be like a couple, but without the word that complicates everything, without other people and the house, you know that I am looking for another place.
Sam - It was not what I wanted, but I can accept it. - Said that Sam leaves the room and Rachel stayed there for a few seconds.  She didn't realize that Sam had been hurt and he didn't realize that she was trying to protect their hearts.

Sam - Okay, boys, stop this - Alec Jost and Jay Affrey played swords with drum sticks, while the other New Directions members chatted or danced around the room.  - We need to rehearse for Friday's presentation.  - Sam passed by handing each student a sheet.
A girl with dark skin, black hair and brown eyes raised her hands.
     Sam— Yes, Audrey?
Audrey - Will this be like a competition?
Alec - If it is already won, they do not have all members.
Sam - It is not a competition, it is more of a demonstration than waiting in the sectionals.

Rachel - We need new members ... - She eyes the girls standing in front of you - until Friday.
Becca - Girls who know how to sing and want to participate in the choir are as rare as we redheads.  Becca was a redhead, with light brown eyes and a medium size.
Rachel - They don't need to sing so well, if they dance it's a good start, I can improve them over time.  We are running out of time and you ... - She pointed to the three cherrios - ... are popular.
Aimeh - Exactly why they will never be able to find anyone, they do not speak to the commoners.
Val— What do we have to do?  - She said turning her back on the comment.
Rachel - When I was in high school and we needed members, we sang in places with a lot of people, we called their attention.
Ella - And it worked very well since New Directions always had a line of students wanting to register.  - Said sarcastically.
     Rachel ignored the comment.
Rachel - Make the introductions, and keep an eye out to see if you can find anyone with interest.
In that, all the girls dispersed.

Alec— Troubletones?  - Alec leaned against the closet and looked at Ella who kept some materials in her closet.
Ella - Taking care of my life now?  - She closed the closet and turned to face him.
Alec - I take care of what interests me.  - He brought his face close to Ella's, who turned the body and kept walking down the corridor.  Alec laughed and followed her - You chose the wrong club to join.
Ella - Maybe I chose the right one, have you thought about it?
Alec - No chance of you passing the section.  In fact, they are going to be bad this week.
That said, he turned to the right and followed the corridor that led to the court.  Alec was tall and striking because he had sky-blue eyes, black hair that was always neat and his clothes lined up.  He was beautiful, but he was a chicken.

Jenny - Shouldn't we sing something?
Chloe - Now?  - She looked at the crowded cafeteria.
        Jenny - Yes.
Ashley— What she meant is that we are eating, Jenny.
Val— No, what she meant is that we are in the worst place to start singing.  I don't want to go through this shame.
Jenny - Mrs. Berry told us to do this.
Ella - She's right, we need more people.
Becca almost broke her neck when Ella approached the table agreeing that Jenny had just spoken.
      Ella– Send
Ella spoke to the boys in the school band.
      Ella— Whoo!
What you sippin 'on that got you talking crazy?
      Lookin 'at me sideways
      Always coming at me

Aimeh— Why you, why you acting hard when you just a baby?
Boy, I keep it real with you
But you trying to play me

Ashley, Val and Jess— Have you lost your mind?
    Open up your eyes, huh

All— (Aimeh– Someone else) you must have confused me, confused me with
(Aimeh — Someone else) you must have confused me, confused me with
(Aimeh— Someone else) there ain't no excuses, excuses, babe
(Aimeh— Someone else) 'cause your mama raised you better than that, huh

They danced around and on the tables.

Jenny - 'Cause your mama raised you better than that (Becca— that's right)
‘Cause your mama raised you better than that

Becca and Val— Have you lost your mind?
Open up your eyes, huh (your eyes)

All— You must have confused me, confused me with (ayy, c'mon, whoo!)
Your mama raised you better than that (better than, better than that)
There ain't no excuses, excuses, babe
'Cause your mama raised you better than that, huh (she raised you better than that)

When the girls entered the room in the choir room, they saw Rachel talking to two girls.  Two brunettes.  They were smiling.
Chloe - Who do you think you are?  - Chloe whispered to Ashley and Jess sitting next to her who just lifted both shoulders to imply that they had no idea.
It was the second week of school, that is, there were new students arriving and, well, it's not like they were going to wait in front of the entrance door to know who they are.
Rachel crossed the door from her room to the choir door, followed by the two girls.
Rachel - Girls these are Sarah and Tessa, the new members of the troubletones.
Rachel seemed happy with both of them which made Ella uncomfortable.  No, not uncomfortable, jealous.  Rachel had said she needed her, that she was the voice she needed, but all there smiling as if these new girls were heroines left her feeling threatened.
      Becca - Can they sing?
      Sarah— We know.
Rachel - You can sit girls.  - As soon as the two, in complete sync, sat on the chairs, Rachel continued - We need one more to ... - She was interrupted by a voice of a girl who was entering the choir room with a unique confidence.
Ella - What is your sister doing here?  - She whispered to Val.
Val— I have no idea.  Molly doesn't even know how to sing.
Becca - She doesn't know how to do anything.
      The three laughed.
Molly - I'm Molly and I want to get into troubletones.
Rachel - And do you know how to sing or dance?
      Molly— Both.
Val is shocked by that lie.  Ella was smiling and Becca was distracted staring at Ella's face.
Rachel - Okay, show us what you can do then.  - Rachel went to sit next to Aimeh.
Val - This one I want to see - Val spoke more to himself than to the girls sitting next to him.

      Molly - Did a full 180, crazy
Thinking 'bout the way I was
Did the heartbreak change me?  Maybe
But look at where I ended up

Molly sang out of tune.  Rachel was startled at first but managed to hide it.  The girls' other reactions were a mixture of horror and laughter.

I'm all good already
So moved on, it's scary
I'm not where you left me at all, so

If you don't wanna see me dancing with somebody
If you wanna believe anything could stop me

Don't show up, don't come ...

        Rachel - Okay ... - Rachel interrupted that horror show - ... I think we've seen enough.
Ella - Enough was the minute she started singing, now ... - Becca elbowed her friend to stop her talking.
Molly - When did we start rehearsing for Friday?
        Rachel - Tomorrow.
All the girls looked at Rachel in shock.  Jenny shook her head and Aimeh whispered, "You are crazy, she is terrible".  When Molly left the room, Rachel returned to the front of the room and was bombarded with questions.
Rachel - Girls - the room was silent - We need another girl, she doesn't need to sing, just be present.
☆☆☆☆

Rachel was in the auditorium sitting at the piano.
Rachel - All along it was a fever
A cold sweat hot-headed believer
I threw my hands in the air and said: Show me something
He said: If you dare, come a little closer

Round and around and around and around we go
Ohh, now tell me now, tell me now, tell me now, you know

Sam passing by, listening to the piano melody and Rachel's voice, he stops and listens to her sing.

Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you
It takes me all the way
I want you to stay

Sam then decides to reveal that it is there, when he sings the next verse.

Sam— It's not much of a life you're living
It's not just something you take, it's given
Round and around and around and around we go
Ohh, now tell me now, tell me now, tell me now, you know

Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move
Makes me feel like I can't live without you
It takes me all the way
I want you to stay

All— Ohh, the reason I hold on
Ohh, ‘cause I need this hole gone
Funny you're the broken one
But I'm the only one who needed saving
‘Cause when you never see the light
It's hard to know which one of us is caving

Rachel— Not really sure how to feel about it
Something in the way you move

All— Makes me feel like I can't live without you
It takes me all the way

Rachel - want you to stay, stay

All— I want you to stay, ohh

Sam - I heard you got the twelve girls, congratulations - Sam turned to face Rachel.  He was smiling.
Rachel - If we had bet I would have won.
      The two smiled.
The atmosphere between them after that conversation was not the best.  Rachel didn't even go to his house yesterday.
Sam— I don't want to be in this mood, Rachel!
Rachel - Me neither - She gave him a friendly smile that accepted that as a permission to kiss her.
Sam- Are you going over to the house today?
Rachel - I would go, but I have an apartment full of boxes to open and things to pack.
Sam - I guarantee you will have more fun at home.
She smirked at him as she approached for another kiss.

Sue - Stop - Sue shouted in the corridor causing Ella her horse shaft to stop walking.  - Now turn— Ella turned.
Ella - Can I help you?
Sue - You know, a little bird told me that my captain was part of a choir club, I said it couldn't be true, because she wouldn't cheat on me like that.
Ella - It's true.  - She looked Sue in the eye when she spoke.
Sue - I don't understand how the choir club always gets my captains - Sue spoke to herself, while Ella grimaced.  - I don't want you in it.
Ella - But I want to be in it.
Sue - Even if it means being out of Cherrios?
Ella - You wouldn't take me out of Cherrios, because I'm the best, I made you win the two champion trophies that are in your room.  And that will not change, I can do both.  - even if I don't sleep, he thought.
Sue - Sometimes I forget that you are just as manipulative as I am.  But they are all replaceable up to you.
Ella - Good luck with that.
She turned and walked down the hall, people were opening tickets for her and it didn't go unnoticed by Sue.  The truth was that when she was hired again after that TV show, her control at school no longer existed, no one respected her, and after Mr. Shue became a director and the new directions became more popular than the cherrios she was  completely lost.  But then Ella and her wit made the cherrios win the championship and become popular and respected at school again.  Sue then had no choice but to run after her.
Sue - I want a choreography ready for tomorrow morning.
Ella - But today there is the presentation, I don't have time to create a choreography.  - Ella could have said those words to Sue, but she needed Cherrios, because she had to have an extracurricular activity and, good dancing was out of the question.
Her mother was against any art, for her, Ella had to be a great student and have the best grades, be the most intelligent.  And that was the deal for her to study at McKinley, good grades and she could be part of the best school in town and even attend Cherrios, a bad grade and it all ends.  Ella spent her nights reviewing content and now with the choir club, the only thing she loved, she had even less time for other things.
Sue— Make your choice, but think about what your mom would choose.

☆☆☆☆

It was time for the presentation and Mr. Shue was already at the microphone in the middle of the stage set up on the court.
Will— Welcome, McKinley students.  Today we have presentations by two choral clubs, they will be rivals in the sections.  And the first to introduce himself and New Directions.
All the students on the court applauded, Rachel and the girls were seated to watch the New Directions presentation, but there was one missing.  Becca kept looking among the other students and Rachel looked like she was about to explode.  She was nervous about being the first performance.
Rachel got up and went into the hall and ducked over a trash can and threw up inside.  He put his hands on his head.
Rachel - Where are you Ella.

Audrey— You got me saying: Oh, na na na, na na na
Can't take my eyes off you, na na na, na na na
Got me acting a fool, na na na, na na na
Oh, baby, baby, you drive me crazy
For you, I go loco

Jay— Take my heart, keep it with you, yeah, yeah
Flex on me if you want to, yeah, yeah

Laurel— Every time I see you like that, like that
Makes me keep coming right back, right back
Every guy needs a good girl
Welcome to my world

Mia— The way that you look at me, baby
The way that you talk drives me crazy

Alec— Can't nobody tell you nothing, no way
You bring out the Sun on a bad day

Mia— The way that you look at me, baby
The way that you talk drives me crazy

Alec— You got my head up in the clouds
Can’t keep my feet on the ground

Audrey— You got me saying: Oh, na na na, na na na
Can't take my eyes off you, na na na, na na na
Got me acting a fool, na na na, na na na
Oh, baby, baby, you drive me crazy
For you, I go loco

Alec and Emma— All night, all day
I really like the way (baby)
The things you say (oh, oh)
You know you drive me crazy
Every night and day
I really like the way
You drive me crazy

Kevin and Mia— You got me saying: Oh, na na na, na na na (na na)
Can't take my eyes off you, na na na, na na na
Got me acting a fool, na na na, na na na
Oh, baby, baby, you drive me crazy
For you, I go loco (yeah)

All— Oh, na na na, na na na
Can't take my eyes off you, na na na, na na na
Got me acting a fool (yeah), na na na, na na na
Oh, baby, baby, you drive me crazy
For you, I go loco

The students applauded.  And the girls went behind the curtains that closed.
Jenny - Where the hell is Ella at?  - She spoke looking at Val and Becca, who were asking the same question.
Aimeh - Of course she was going to disappear, she certainly did it on purpose.
Becca - She wouldn't do that, she must have had a problem.
     Jess - Where's Mrs. Berry?
Rachel - I'm here - Rachel appeared with Ella at her side.  - Let's all go here, let's make a circle.
    Jenny - Why?
Rachel - It was a tradition to do that before a performance.  You will rock.  - She winked at the girls and stretched an arm forward, Ella did the same and so everyone imitated.
    All - Troubletones.

     Will— The troubletones.

Aimeh— I do my hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (All— Feelin 'good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (All— Feelin 'good as hell)

Aimeh— Woo, child, tired of the bullshit
Go on, dust your shoulders off, keep it moving
Yes, Lord, tryna get some new shit
In there, swimwear, going-to-the-pool shit

Come now, come dry your eyes
You know you a star, you can touch the sky
I know that it's hard but you have to try
If you need advice, let me simplify

If he don't love you anymore
Just walk your fine ass out the door

All— I do my hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Ashley and Chloe— Feelin 'good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Ashley and Chloe — Feelin 'good as hell)
(Feeling good as hell)
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Ashley and Chloe— feelin 'good as hell)

Aimeh— Woo, girl, need to kick off your shoes
Got to take a deep breath, time to focus on you
All the big fights, long nights that you been through
I got a bottle of tequila I been saving for you (thank God)

Ella— 'Cause he better know my worth
There's so much that I deserve
But I ain't worried now, I'ma let my hair down
He been tryin 'it, but not today

Ella— So girl, if he don't love you anymore
Ella and Becca— Then walk your fine ass out the door

All— And do your hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Val and Jenny — Feelin 'good as hell)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Val and Jenny — Feelin 'good as hell)
(Val— Show it off tonight)

Hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Val and Jenny — Feelin 'good as hell)
(Ella— And we gon 'be alright)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Val and Jenny — Feelin 'good as hell)

Ella— Hm, yeah, mm, alright, listen
So girl, if he don't love you anymore
Aimeh— Then walk your fine ass out the door (Ella— door)

All— And do your hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Ashley, Val and Jenny — Feelin 'good as hell)

Hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Ashley, Val and Jenny — Feelin 'good as hell)
(Val— And we gon 'make it right)
Hair toss, check my nails
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Ashley, Val and Jenny— feelin 'good as hell)
(Val— Feelin 'good as hell)
Baby, how you feelin '?  (Ashley and Jenny — Feelin 'good as hell)
(Becca— Haha, I danced, that's what I did)

Everyone applauded, and the New Directions members were all shocked looking at the girls on stage.

       Alec— We are screwed
       Sam— Very screwed.
