Sue - McKinley students this week is the worst week of all the weeks of the year, the week where it is normal to find a bunch of unemployed people, with a miserable life walking through these corridors.  - Sue spoke into the microphone in her room, the sound was reproduced in all rooms - So don't be scared if you see old people around.  - Rachel was sitting in her office rolling her eyes.
Sam knocked on the door and caught Rachel's eye as she looked at some papers on her desk.
Sam— Do I get in the way?
Rachel— Never.  - She got up and stood in front of him.
Sam - I brought you this - He held out a bouquet of flowers and Rachel smiled as she picked them up - as an apology for avoiding you these past few days.
Rachel - They are beautiful - she turned and placed the flowers on the table.  They were silent for a few seconds.
Sam - Your first alumni week, looking forward?
Rachel - A little, it will be good to be all in the same city again.  The only people I saw in the past five years were Blaine and Kurt, and the others I spoke to only through messages.  - Rachel lowered her eyes when she realized that Sam was not included in any.
      Sam— What is it?
Rachel - Nothing - She smiled at him and came over, put her arms around Sam's neck - I missed you - She said approaching and when they were about to kiss Sam spoke, letting go of Rachel.
Sam— Mercedes— Sam walked over to her, giving her a hug.  Rachel turned around smiling and trying not to think that Mercedes hindered her moment with Sam.
Mercedes - Wow, Rachel, you didn't change anything, - he said while hugging Rachel.
Rachel - Thank you.  - Rachel did not fail to notice that Sam smiled at Mercedes, and almost could not pretend that it was not bothering her

Rachel - Girls - Rachel greeted as soon as she entered the choir room, the girls stopped talking and paid attention to Rachel.  - This week we have the alumni party and you, together with New Directions, will be the main attraction.
Ella - And by main attraction you mean you don't have to pay for a real band.
Rachel - Also, - the girls smiled - we need to choose the songs to be sung.  Sam and I talked and ... - She was interrupted by Val.
Val— Did you talk while you were lying in the same bed together?  - She blinked and smirked.
Rachel - No, and to think that of your teachers is inappropriate.
Jess— That's because you don't hear what we say when you're not around.
Rachel— What?  - Rachel was embarrassed and curious, but decided to leave this matter alone -, continuing, we need to choose the repertoire, so make groups, between you or with the boys, to present on the day.
Becca - You'll be my date at the party, won't you?  - Becca asked walking beside Ella when they were leaving the room.
Ella - I thought that was obvious.  - They gave a peck.
Aimeh — get a room, ”he said, smiling as he passed them.

Rachel - I’m a phoenix in the water
A fish that’s learned to fly
And I’ve always been a daughter
But feathers are meant for the sky

Rachel sang in the middle of the auditorium.

Santana - So I’m wishing, wishing further
For the excitement to arrive
It’s just I’d rather be causing the chaos
Than laying at the sharp end of this knife

Santana and Britanny entered the right side of the auditorium and walked down the hall between the chairs towards the stage.

Mike, Tina and Artie - With every small disaster
I'll let the waters still
Take me away to some place real

The three entered on the left side and followed the same path as Santana and Britanny.  Mercedes, Kitty, Sam and Quinn came from behind the stage and joined the group.

Rachel, Santana and Mercedes - ‘Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you’re alone
Is where you go to rest your bones
It’s not just where you lay your head
It’s not just where you make your bed
As long as we’re together, does it matter where we go?
Home, home

Quinn— So when I’m ready to be bolder
And my cuts have healed with time
Comfort will rest on my shoulder
And I’ll bury my future behind

Kitty and Sam— And I’ll always keep you with me
You’ll always be on my mind
But there’s a shining in the shadows
I'll never know unless I try

Rachel and Santana— With every small disaster
I'll let the waters still
Take me away to some place real

All— ‘Cause they say home is where your heart is set in stone
Is where you go when you’re alone
Is where you go to rest your bones
It’s not just where you lay your head
It’s not just where you make your bed
As long as we’re together, does it matter where we go?

Everyone embraced as soon as they finished singing.

Santana - A toast to Rachel who decided to give the air of grace - Everyone raised their glasses and laughed.  Rachel rolled her eyes, but laughed right away.
After meeting in the auditorium, everyone decided to go out and have fun.
Rachel - Just so you know Santana, I had a Broadway play to star in - Rachel defended herself.
Quinn - Okay, let's not bring the past back.  This year she is here with us.
Sam - Exactly - He winked at Rachel, who smiled thanks to Quinn, Santana just shrugged.
Artie - Maybe I'll spend more time here.
     Sam— Why?
Artie - My script was chosen to be one of the finalists in the best short competition, and now I need to find actors to record it and at McKinley I could get it for free.
Rachel - For sure, girls would kill to be the main one.
Kitty - Who would have thought, right?  Artie pursuing a career as a director, Rachel doing Broadway plays and still looking after a choir, Mercedes releasing another CD, - Mercedes shifted uncomfortably in her chair when Kerry spoke of her - and even Sam went to college and became a teacher.
Rachel - Speaking of choir, Britanny wanted to talk to you - Britanny agreed and the two got up, Santana frowned - I need help with the girls' choreography and I was wondering if you didn't want to help me with this?
Britanny - Are you asking me to work with you?
Rachel - I know it's quite a change, but you would be doing something you like.
Britanny - Can I think about it?
Rachel - Of course you can.
The two returned to the table and Britanny was soon questioned by Santana, who while Britanny told what Rachel had said stared at Rachel.
Kurt— The principal just arrived— Kurt and Blaine sat in the vacant seats— You have no idea of the hardship we went through in the flight here.
Blaine - The flight just delayed, Kurt doesn't overdo it.
Rachel - Does Kurt not overdo it?  Impossible. - Kurt frowned at Rachel who laughed.  Sam was looking at Mercedes the moment Rachel looked at him, her smile died and she took another sip of her drink.
And they started to tell about their lives, about their jobs, about how good it was to be back and see everyone again.  Everything was going well until Santana spoke.
Santana - So Sam, Rachel is back, now you're going to have to decide who to spend the night with.
Rachel - I don't understand. - She looked at Sam who was staring at Santana begging her to stop talking.
Santana— During all these years that you never came to these alumni meetings, Sam always ended up in the arms of Mercedes, but now you are here.  - Rachel looked at Sam in surprise, when he said nothing she got up to go to the bathroom, but I could hear Britanny scolding Santana for saying that.
Sam - Hey, wait - Rachel stopped walking and turned around - It's not what you think.
Rachel - No?  - She crossed her arms - You didn't lie to me then?
Sam - I didn't lie, what Mercedes and I had is past.
Rachel - So look me in the eye and say that if she wanted to go back with you, if she kissed you now, you would say no.  - Sam didn't answer anything for a few seconds and Rachel's eyes were already watering.  Rachel turned and was walking when Sam took her arm.
Sam - I would tell her to stop, it was wrong.
Rachel - So why can't I believe this?
Sam— Because it's easier for you to find a reason not to say what you really feel for me, a reason for you to continue with this armor that you put around your feelings, but I can't live like this.  I can't be the one who wants it right.
Rachel— The only one?  I crossed the country to get back to you.
Sam - I wouldn't have had to cross the country to go back if you hadn't crossed it to go.  - Sam turned and left, leaving Rachel speechless behind.

☆☆☆☆
Rachel— I found myself dreaming in silver and gold
Like a scene from a movie that every broken heart knows
We were walking on moonlight
And you pulled me close
Split second and you disappeared
And then I was all alone

Rachel walked the streets of Ohio while singing.

I woke up in tears, with you by my side
A breath of relief, and I realized
No, we're not promised tomorrow

So I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna hold you
Like I'm saying goodbye
Wherever we're standing
I won't take you for granted
'Cause we'll never know when
When we'll run out of time
So I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you

So let's take our time to say what we want
Use what we got before it's all gone
No, we're not promised tomorrow
I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna hold you
Like I'm saying goodbye
Wherever we're standing
I won't take you for granted
'Cause we'll never know when
When we'll run out of time
So I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you
I'm gonna love you
Like I'm gonna lose you

It was close to midnight when Rachel came home.  She took her key and opened the door, the living room light was on and Ella was sitting on the couch surrounded by books.
Rachel - Shouldn't you be sleeping?
Ella - No, I always spend the next day's class before class, to be prepared.
Rachel - You know this is not normal, right?  - Rachel sat in the free space of the sofa.
Ella - It's my normal.  You look sad, what happened?
Rachel - I think what Sam and I had is over.  - Rachel started to cry.
Ella - May I ask why?
Rachel - Because I'm an idiot - Rachel looked Ella in the eye - Because I'm afraid to tell him that I love him, that he makes me laugh, that he makes me feel loved and protected ... because the last time I  I told that to someone, that person died.
Ella - For a person who spent months hiding liking someone I tell you to go after him and say what you just said to him, because, Rachel, you have the opportunity to be happy and you are throwing it away for fear of something  that is not going to happen.  - Ella took Rachel's hand - You are the only one preventing yourself from being happy.
Rachel - You're right - She wiped her tears and stood up, grabbed her bag and was leaving the house when she said, "Go to sleep, okay?"  - Ella agreed.

☆☆☆

        Sam heard his doorbell ring.
Sam— Mercedes?  Why are you here?  Mercedes was standing in front of the door.
Mercedes - I lied Sam - She said and was almost crying, Sam opened the door more and pulled Mercedes to sit on the couch with him.
       Sam— I don't understand.
Mercedes— When I said that my CD was doing well.  He won't Sam, in fact he didn't sell anything.  - She got up and started walking at the same time she was crying - I lost my contract with the label and in the last few months I tried to get someone to buy my CD, but nobody bought it.
Sam- Hey, calm down, you can still try again.
Mercedes— No Sam, I got tired.  I lost - She sat back on the couch with her arms on her leg and her head in her hands, Sam took Mercedes' hand.
Sam - You are amazing, Mercedes - Mercedes then kissed him, Sam was surprised at first, but he started to respond.
Rachel parked the car and walked towards Sam's house, she saw that the door was open and then entered.  She stopped in place and opened her mouth when she saw Sam and Mercedes kissing, her chest tightened and she fought back tears.  It was too painful, it was too shameful.
She decided that she was not going to let either Sam or Mercedes see her collapse, so she was going to sneak out, but the moment she turned she knocked on the door that closed, Sam and Mercedes jumped up and looked at her.  Sam went from shocked to guilty and Mercedes seemed to understand nothing.
Rachel - I wanted to talk to Sam, but I'm on my way out— So she left as quickly as possible and Sam ran after her, but she had already started the car.
Mercedes— Sorry, Sam.  I didn't know you were together.
Sam - We weren't, well we were, but not like that ... it's complicated.

Val— Ella— Val was practically running down the hall. - Did you see Jay around?
Ella - No, do you want me to call him?
     Val— No, I'm avoiding him.
      Ella - Why?
Val - He called me yesterday saying he wanted to talk to me, I'm sure he wants to ask me to go to the party with him.
      Ella— How disgusting.
Val - Hey - She scolded Ella.
Ella - Then go to the party with him.
Val - No, disgusting - Ella rolled her eyes.
Ella - It is better to think fast because he is coming here - Ella nodded towards the hall.
Val— Hide me.  - She said desperately.
Ella - Where in the closet? - It was sarcastic
Val - I don't think I would fit there.  - Ella took a deep breath not to be harsh with her friend.
Jay - Ella - he greeted and Ella just shrugged - Val can we talk?
Val— No… I… I have to go— ”She stuttered and when she finished speaking, she ran.
Jay— What did I do?  - Jay's problem wasn't that he was ugly or anything.  He was just too straight.  It was the opposite of Valerie who loved trouble.  - Why did she run away from here?  - He spoke looking at where Val had left and when he looked at Ella again he only saw her back walking down the hall.  Was he alone.
Ella walked down the hall until she found Becca who was talking to Jess.
Becca - Hi - They gave a peck and kept walking until Jess stopped and screamed.
Jess - Chay - she said to a boy standing near the school stairs - What are you doing here?
Chay - I'm waiting for my girlfriend.  What do you do here?
     Jess— I study here now.
Ella - Who's that over there?  - She pointed to Chay.
      Jess— This is Chay.
     Chay— Hello - He greeted
     Becca - Hello - returned.
Ella - Why are you talking to Jess?
    Chay - We studied together.
     Jess— He was my boyfriend.
Ella - Um, why did you break up with her? - Jess gives a bored face to Ella's question.
Chay - Actually, she broke up with me.
Ella - And how did you celebrate?  Becca laughed, and Jess rolled her eyes.
Jess - You can't get enough - she asked crossing her arms and Ella laughed.  At that moment Ashley came running and jumped in Chay's arms.
Ashley - Chay - They kissed, Ella laughed realizing what was going on, Becca looked down uncomfortably and Jess was surprised.  - Guys, this is Chay, my boyfriend.
Ella— Aa, Jess already knows him.  - She smirked.
     Ashley— Really?  Like?
Chay - I studied with Jess years ago.
Ella - Not only did they study, but ... - Becca elbowed Ella to stop talking.
     Ashley— What do you mean?
Jess - we were boyfriends.  - Ashley's eyes widened - But it's past.
Ella - Are you sure?  - She gave a friendly smile.
Becca— Come on— She pulled Ella by the arms.
Ella - But I'm having fun - She argued while being dragged away.
Jess - I'm happy for you, really.  - She said smiling at her friend.
     Ashley— Thank you.

☆☆☆☆

Becca - It is incredible the feeling of entering arm in arm with you - She spoke as soon as they entered the party, drawing the attention of everyone around who looked at them.  Ella's dress was red at the waist and rolled to the knee.  The color enhanced his pale skin and green eyes.  Becca wore black overalls and a high bun.
Ella - Yeah, it's really good - She smiled.
On the stage were Jay, Kevin, Alec and Connor.

Alec— You're always on my mind
I think about you all the time
Um, no

Let's not talk about it
Drama: We can live without it
Catch a wave if we're bored
There's a clock we'll ignore
Find a way around it

Jay— Hey girl, I can tell there's something
Even when you say it's nothing
When you're playing with your hair
Like you just don't care
It's a tell you're bluffing
Now please don't take this the wrong way

Jay looked at Val who was among other students singing and dancing.

All— I love the things you do
It's how you do the things you love
But it's not a love song, not a love song
I love the way you get me
But correct me
If I'm wrong
This is not a love song, not a love song

Kevin and Connor— I don't speak, girl
Like hey girl!
I don't quite understand a manicure
But you're the only friend I'd take a shower for
(And I would really do that for you)
And I would hold your bags
When you go shopping
What a guy (what a guy, what a guy, what a guy)
What a guy!

All— I love the things you do
It's how you do the things you love
The way you say it
Put me through it
I guess I always knew it (I always knew)

I love the way you get me
But correct me
If I'm wrong
This is not a love song, not a love song
This is not a love song (it's not a love song)
Not a love song
This is not a love song (it's not a love song)
Not a love song

Everyone applauded.  Sam came in and saw Rachel sitting on a stool at the bar.  She drank alone and all Sam wanted to do was go over there, but he didn't go.  It was her turn to chase.
Quinn - Can I? - She asked Rachel before and sit next to her, she called the waiter and showed her identity and he brought her a drink.  - That face, the alcoholic drink and his bad mood, tell me it's a problem with a man.
Rachel - Do you want a trophy?  - She asked sarcastically
Quinn— Sam?  - Rachel agreed and took another sip.
Rachel - I shouldn't have come back - She started - I was fine in New York, but I didn't have to listen to my heart and I came to see if he had already forgotten me or not.
      Quinn— You like him.
Rachel - And he likes her - Rachel looked in the direction of Mercedes who was laughing with Kurt on the other side of the room.
Quinn - Men only bring loss - She remembered that with Puck things didn't work out.  She raised her glass - A toast to the wrong loves - Rachel raised her glass and toasted Quinn.
Rachel— I don't understand, am I the wrong one?  Is that why none of my relationships worked?
Quinn - Maybe the problem is with us, because mine didn't work out well either. - They asked the waiter for another drink.
Rachel - I can't believe he kissed her - Rachel looked at Quinn who smiled sadly at her - You know what - Rachel drank the rest of the drink and when she got up she almost fell, because of the dizziness, she balanced herself and took Quinn's hand.  she was just like her - Let's dance - She spoke curled up and pulled Quinn to the dance floor the moment Ella went up on stage to sing.

Ella— Everybody loves the things you do
From the way you talk
To the way you move
Everybody here is watching you
'Cause you feel like home
You're like a dream come true
But if by chance you're here alone
Can I have a moment
Before I go?
'Cause I've been by myself all night long
Hoping you're someone I used to know

Ella sang looking at Becca in the audience.

You look like a movie
You sound like a song
My God, this reminds me
Of when we were young
Santana and Britanny danced looking each other in the eyes.  Jess kept looking at Ashley and Chay in the crowd.

Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
That we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were sad of getting old
It made us restless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song

Alec walked across the room to Jenny, held out his hand for her to think about before accepting.

I was so scared to face my fears
'Cause nobody told me that you would be here
And I swear you moved overseas
That's what you said, when you left me

Sam danced with Mercedes while looking for Rachel at the bar, but he didn't find her.

You still look like a movie
You still sound like a song
My God, this reminds me
Of when we were young

Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
That we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were sad of getting old
It made us restless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song

It's hard to admit that
Everything just takes me back
To when you were there
To when you were there
And a part of me keeps holding on
Just in case it hasn't gone
I guess I still care
Do you still care?

It was just like a movie
It was just like a song
My God, this reminds me
Of when we were young

Rachel and Quinn danced together near the bathrooms, which was a place with fewer people.
         Rachel - You dance well
Quinn - You already suck, you stepped on my foot about three times - Rachel laughed.
They smiled at each other, didn't even notice when their faces started to approach and their breaths started to mix.  Only when their lips met did they realize what they were doing, but none interrupted the kiss, in fact Quinn pushed Rachel to the wall and pinned her to it, Rachel smiled at Quinn's movement and then pulled Quinn by the hand out of the room.

Let me photograph you in this light
In case it is the last time
That we might be exactly like we were
Before we realized
We were sad of getting old
It made us restless
Oh, I'm so mad, I'm getting old
It makes me reckless
It was just like a movie
It was just like a song
When we were young

Rachel shifted on the bed when the alarm sounded in her ears.  She reached out to the side and felt someone on her bed, she opened her eyes and stood up and it was the worst thing she should have done.
Rachel - Not again - She got up bringing the blanket with her as she ran to the bathroom.  Quinn got up drowsily.
Quinn - I never caused that reaction in anyone.  - She played with Rachel who was vomiting in the vase.
Rachel— I'll never drink again.  - Quinn laughed. - What?
Quinn - Is that you in that position reminded me of when I threw up every day because I was pregnant.  Old days.
       Rachel - Every day?
Quinn - And at the same time - She smiled wistfully.  Rachel's heart skipped a beat, and her brain started to remember when she last menstruated, so the plug went down: nausea every morning, dizziness, crying for no reason.  She looked startled at Quinn who stopped smiling - No - She opened her mouth in shock when she understood what went on in Rachel's head.  - You are pregnant?
