Mourning

Ella - I wanted to see me - she said entering Coach Sylvester's office.  Sue looked up at Ella and stood up walking over to give her a hug.  Ella was surprised by that.

Sue— I heard about your mother.  - Ella looked down - I'm sorry.

Ella - It's me too - she sat down in the chair facing Sue.

Sue - I knew we had to have prepared you before. - Ella frowned at Sue.

Ella - Did you know?  She asked in surprise.

Sue - Rachel too.

Ella - Did you two know more and tell me nothing?  Ella stood up, pushing her chair back and raising her voice.

Rachel - We think your mother would tell you - Rachel spoke leaning against the doorframe, Ella turned towards Rachel's voice. - She came to me months ago and she told me she had lung cancer.  She begged me to speak to you, so that you could give her a second chance.  I'm sorry. ”Rachel put her hands on Ella's shoulders.  Ella looked up at Rachel, pain, anger and a hint of guilt could be seen in them.

Ella - You gave me hope that she and I could be a family again, Rachel!  And that was the worst thing I could have done since I knew it would never happen - Ella said looking Rachel in the eyes before leaving the room.  Sue sighed and Rachel blinked a few times to keep from crying.

“Everyone is looking at me, there is no way I'm used to it, they look at me with pity.  I'm suffocated with so much pressure on me waiting for me to cry, or say something or freak out, or scream.  But for some reason, I can't, and I don't want to, do any of those things. ”

Ella walked down the hall to her closet, when she closed the door she saw Ashley and Jess holding out a box for her.

Ella - What is that?

Ashley - Chocolate, he does well when the person is sad.

Jess - We are sorry - Jess spoke with a gentle smile.  Ella smiled weakly before heading to the choir room.  Jess and Ashley followed close behind.

Rachel was sitting at the piano and next to her was Sam asking for the thousandth time if Rachel was really okay to teach.  Since New Directions lost in the regionals, they are joining the two corals, another reason was for Sam to keep an eye on Rachel who refused to rest even though the doctor recommended it.

Ella sat at the back of the room and as far away from everyone as possible.  Val smiled at her friend and reached behind her to place it on Ella's knee, who just smiled.

Sam - Okay, boys, everyone paying attention here - he asked clapping his hands and the conversation stopped.

Connor - Mr. Evans - he called interrupting Sam, who looked at him - We have something ready for Ella, can we show you?

Rachel - Sure - Ella sighed irritably and rolled her eyes again.  Jay, Jenny and Becca went to the front of the room.  Jay sat at the piano, while Becca and Jenny sat on two stools facing the class.

Becca— I'm in my bed

Ella was looking at the three at the front of the room with a blank expression.  Rachel had a calm smile on her face.

Jenny— What am I now?  What am I now?
