Chapter 13

Today is the day, I've been dreading this. I wake up before Dalton does but instead of getting up like I typically do I cuddle into him.

Dalton rolls toward me and wraps his arms around me pulling me closer. "Babe, why are you up so early?" Dalton asks. "I don't know, I just woke up. I'm not ready for you to leave." I say now laying on top of him.

"I know, but I promise everything will be okay, I'll call you as much as I can. You better give me update on you and the baby everyday though." He says wrapping his arms around me.

I get off of him and lay back down next to him and just stare at the ceiling not saying anything. "Babe, is everything okay?" Dalton asks rolling onto his side to face me. "Nothing, its just gonna be weird having the whole house to myself," I say now facing him.

"You won't be alone, Bella will be here, and I'm sure if you asked Ajay would come and hang out with you too," I just nod in response. I don't want to tell Dalton that I'm scared but I am. I'm scared something is going to happen when he's gone or he's not going to come home

"We have two hours before we even need to be awake, so do you want to try and go back to sleep or what do you want to do?" Dalton asks rubbing my back. "I don't think I'll be able to fall back asleep but you can go back to sleep if you want, I'll just read or something," I say looking into Dalton's eyes.

"I have an idea of something we can do," He says with a smirk before kissing me. After laying in bed for two hours messing around on and off it's finally time to get up and head to the airport.

We decide to shower together to "save water". Once we're done showering and getting dressed Dalton grabs his bag and we head out to the garage. "Do you want to take the truck or my car?" I ask Dalton walking out the garage door.

"We can take my truck, I'll drive there. I'm gonna miss by baby anyway." "Aww, babe I'm gonna miss you too." I say hugging him. "I was talking about the truck but I'll miss you too babe." He says kissing him. We get into the truck and start driving to the airport.

"When is your doctor's appointment?" Dalton asks holding my hand. "Friday at 8," I say. "I want an email about how it went right after okay?" Dalton says. "I will I promise, I think I'm gonna ask my mom and Ryley tot go with me," I tell him. "You haven't really hung out with Ryley lately have you?"

"No, not really. We've both just been really busy with work and studying for our boards, we still talk everyday just don't get to really see each other," I state. "You should call her later and see if she'll come over," Dalton says

"I think I will," I say leaning back into the seat. "Oh, by the way, I got the job at the hospital clinic" I add.

"I'm proud of you babe, I knew you would. Are you excited? When do you start?" Dalton says. "I start Monday, I'm super excited. I thought I wanted to do something more fast paced at first but with having a baby on the way I'm excited to be working with other soon to be moms and doing ultrasounds too."

"Do you know what doctor you'll be working with?" Dalton asks staying focused on the road. "Yeah, Dr. Groom, I'm super excited she's amazing," I say. "Isn't that your doctor?" "Yeah, so I'll have scheduled appointments but if needed we can just do them whenever really," I tell Dalton.

"Well, when I get back I'm gonna be at everyone so you better make sure to call me and tell me when you're going to do them." Dalton states. " I know, and don't worry I will."

Next thing I know we're pulling into the airport parking lot. We get out and Dalton grabs his bag from the backseat. We start walking toward the actual airport when we see Dalton's parents so we decide to wait for them in the parking lot.

Once we get inside it's not time for Dalton to board yet so we just sit and talk until it's time. I don't let go of Dalton's hand until the very last minute. We hear his flight being called he hugs his parents and then moves to me. I'm not ready for this at all. As soon as he wraps his arms around me I burst into tears. I thought I could handle it but I was wrong.

"Shhh, babe it will be fine, I'll be back in no time." Dalton says hugging me tighter. He kisses me and then leans down and kisses my belly. "I love you, I'll call you as soon as I can." Dalton says and kisses me one more time. Just like that the love of my life was gone, for now at least.
