I heard the yells and laughs of children running around and playing on the playground. I sat in the sandbox with my bucket and pail building my own sandcastle by myself. I was humming while filling up my bucket when a little boy about my age had sat down across from me. He was smaller than me with platinum blonde hair and pale blue eyes. His skin was so light and pale it made his rosy cheeks scattered with freckles stand out. He looked up at me with a toothy grin plasted on his face.
"Hewwo! 'm Rylie! What's your name?" Rylie said holding out his hand politely. I looked at him in confusion. Nobody ever talked to me, Mama said it was because I didn't have the friendliest aura. I was a little bit bigger than all of the other kids my age. I had dark brown hair and green eyes that my mama said she adores.
I cautiously took his small hand into my own shaking it softly, "I'm Giles," I said, not taking my eyes of the bubbly kid.
"Hi Giles! I love your name! Can I build a castle with you?" he said looking at me expectantly. I nodded, happy that I have a buddy to build with. This was my first friend! I hope we stay friends forever!
