Chapter 18

"Do you wanna watch the stars with me?" He asks staring at you. "Watch the stars?" You ask. "Yeah like go fly up to my work building and just star at the stars." He says rubbing his neck. "Okay let's do it." You smile at him getting excited. He gets up just as excited as you and takes your hand outside. He holds you close once again and flys up in the air. The night is cool and clear. Tokyo looks so beautiful and bright from all the way up here and you're definitely not as scared as last time.

You arrive at his building and he sets you down laying down beside you. You sit up next to him staring at the beautiful stars above. "Ya know song bird, one day I'll have you travel the whole world with me. And we'll see more than just Tokyo stars." He says. You look back at him smiling at his words. "That sounds wonderful." You say. It would be wonderful to actually do that and to get away from the league of villains. Your thoughts drift as dabi and yours kiss suddenly pops in your mind. You did want to kiss him but you know it was wrong and can't let it happen again. Dabi isn't the type to think about being in a relationship with. You're two different people and live two very different lives. I wonder what he's doing right now. "Hey you okay?" Hawks asks sitting up dangling his feet over the edge. "Oh yeah, just lost in thought I guess." You say chuckling. "Maybe we should go back I'm getting tired." Hawks says stretching. He picks you up and flys off the building heading back to his apartment.

You get to the apartment and suddenly feel really tired. You yawn as he opens the door. "You can go ahead and just take the bed, I'll sleep on the couch." Hawks says. "Are you sure? It's fine if I'm on the couch." You tell him. "Nah lemme just change." He says going into the bedroom. You sit on the couch and wait a few minutes until your phone buzzes in your pocket. You pull it out and see a text from an unknown number.
Don't forget we're watching you. Better be careful what you do. -Dabi
You roll your eyes and quickly delete the message. Hawks soon comes out of his bedroom changed into some shorts and a white tshirt. "Alright it's all yours. If you need me just yell." He winks at you. You give him a tight hug thank him before going into the room and crawling in the bed. It's really big and really soft. Much nicer than the one at the leagues base. You snuggle up under the covers and hold on tight to one of the pillows and quickly fall asleep.

You wake up and see a cup of tea on the bed stand with a note next to it.
Had to run to work. Be back soon!
You smile taking the tea. It's green tea with honey. Your favorite. You go out and walk to the living room but stop when you see someone on the couch. It's dabi. "What the hell? How did you get in?" You ask. "I let myself in. I saw bird brain fly away so I came in to keep an eye on you." He says looking you up and down. "You look better in my clothes." He adds clenching his jaw. "You need to get out hawks could be back any minute." You say walking over to the couch. Suddenly your pulled down and sitting on his lap facing him. "I missed you baby. I don't like you being here with him. And I certainly don't like how close you all have been." He tells you wrapping his arms around your waist. "Dabi if hawks come in and sees you he'll -" you start but get cut off. "He'll What?" He asks raising an eyebrow. "I'm not scared of him." "I'm not saying you're scared I'm just saying it's probably not smart for you to be here like this...with me" you say looking down. "I want you to look at me." He says making you look up. "Im going to do whatever I want with you no matter who's around. Okay?" He tells you. Your heart drops and you feel your cheeks heating up at his words. You slowly nod your head in response unsure of what to say. His eyes linger on your lips for a moment before he speaks up. "So I wanted to tell you that Tonight I'll be there making sure your safe. Got it? There's some shit Shigaraki wants to do that I don't agree with so I'm gonna protect you." He says. "What is it that hes doing?" You ask concerned. He says as he leans back on couch with his hands still on your thighs. "He wants to release these new nomus and they're not ready. They're gonna go crazy and hurt anything in its path. So I'm gonna make sure you don't get hurt." "Whats it matter to you if I get hurt or not?" You ask narrowing your eyes. "Everything." He simply says. You stare at him before speaking. "I can protect myself you know." "No, you care too much about others. I'm gonna make sure you do your job and get out of there." He says. You sit there for a moment until you remember what happened on the roof way back when you first met. "I've been meaning to ask you...the day we first met on the roof, why didn't you kill me?" You ask him. He stays quiet not answering. "Well?" You ask getting impatient. "Do I have to kill everyone I encounter?" He asks. "Oh come on don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about. You were ready to kill me!" You say hoping to get the answers. "What do you want me to say? Sorry I didn't kill you?" He asks getting up pushing you off him. "It just seemed weird to me." You say. He rolls his eyes. "It's not important right now, I gotta go but I'll see you tonight. Oh yeah, you better save me a dance." He says walking out the front door leaving you. You sigh laying on the couch staring up at the ceiling. I will get answers tonight.

A couple hours later Hawks returns and brings some lunch. It's already 3:30 and you all still need to get your dress and get ready. You ask to go and hawks flys you over to your apartment. The door is busted in and there's stuff all over the floor and things missing. Wow they really went overboard with the whole break in thing. You think to yourself as you pick up things off the floor. "Haha is this you?" Hawks asks you coming up showing you a picture. It's a picture of you and Touya showing off your quirks your mom took when you were little. You have flowers sprouting out of your hands and Touya is playing with his blue Fire. Blue fire? You think looking over the picture. Touya had blue fire unlike his dad and siblings....you feel your heart racing as you remember someone else with blue flames. "So who's the guy?" Hawks asks interrupting your thoughts. "Oh he's an old friend..an old boyfriend actually." You say. "Well what happened?" Hawks asks raising an eyebrow. "It's a long story." You sigh. "I've got time." He says. You decide to tell him everything that happened from when you first met to when you let him walk away. "I'm sorry that must've been really hard." He says. "Yeah it was. That's also another reason I want to be a hero. I'm hoping I can get answers." You say. "You know we could ask Endeavor tonight? I mean he's not the nicest guy but I think I'm rubbing off on him." He says. "No way theres no way I'm gonna ask him about Touya. Especially tonight." Hawks shrugs and walks around the apartment some more and you grab your dress. "You ready?" You ask. "Oh yeah, it's gonna be a night to remember." Hawks says.
