Chapter 24

"It's the nomus." Dabi says annoyed. "Come on we need to go fast. Can you use your quirk?" You think for a second and then try to make some oleander. You wait a few more seconds but nothing happens. "I can't. Not in this environment and being dehydrated." You say. Dabi sighs running his hands through his hair. "Look we don't have much time, the nomu and heroes are close and we don't wanna get stopped by either of them right now so just follow me and we'll work everything out." He says reaching his hand down for you to take. You hesitate for moment but realize he's right and grab ahold starting to run. Before you can make it much further a sharp burning pain comes from your side. You grab hold of your side in pain. "What? What happened?" Dabi asks coming to your side. He grabs your dress and rips down the side where the pain is. When you see skin you realize it's all burned and blistered. "Fucking hell." He says under his breath. "I-it's from when I tried to stop you earlier." You manage to get out as your side throbs in pain. "Yeah like an idiot." He says. You narrow your eyes at him. Is he really being a smartass right now? You think but your thoughts are interrupted. "Im going to carry you okay? Its going to hurt but we gotta go now." He says scooping you up. He wasnt wrong it hurt like hell as you he picked you up. Pain shot through your body once again. You turn your head to focus in front of you when you suddenly notice piles of dust and blood splattered everywhere. "What is all this?" You ask panic rising. This my fault, this is all my fault. Maybe if I hadnt let them inside and warned someone this wouldn't have happened. You think eyes frozen with fear. "This isnt your fault. This was going to happen whether you helped us or not. You can't blame yourself." Dabi says noticing the fear on your face. "This is what comes with the league of villians." He adds trying to ease your mind. Even though, you still can't help but feel guilty.

After running down a long corridor you finally reach a far back door. Once outside you notice Toga and Kurogiri already waiting. He sets you down and grabs some water from Kurogiri and hands it to you. You gulp down quickly and manage to make a small aloe plant to sooth your burns. You set it on them and the coolness of the aloe makes you sigh in relief. Its still hurts but now you have a little help. You look over and see Dabi leaning against the wall breathing heavily. "Shigaraki and Compress should be back any minute." Kurogiri says breaking the silence. "Get us home. Now." Dabi says coming to pick you up. Before you can protest youre already in his arms and going through the purple smoke. You arrive in the bar as suddenly as you went through the smoke and Dabi sets you down. "Get upstairs and take a cold bath to regenerate your quirk and cool your burns." He says. You nod in response and walk away without saying a word.

You arrive in the bathroom and take your now ruined dress off letting it slip off your body with a light thud as it hits the floor. You step in the bath and sink down to your chin feeling the water cool and cling to your body. Laying your head back your thoughts drift off to what other horrible things couldve happened tonight and you hope someone found Hawks and helped him get out of there into safety. Your breath becomes ragged as flashes of blood splattered everywhere race through your mind. You pull your legs up to your chest hoping to calm down. Its my fault. Its not my fault. Those people died because of me. But you didnt kill anyone. But its my fault they came in. Dabi says they wouldve come in even without your help. Your thoughts bounce back and forth of guilty and not guilty as you can't decide which one is the actual truth. Nothing you think is making you feel any better. Suddenly your thoughts are interrupted by a knock at your door. "Hey, youve been in here for a while, you should probably come out so we can fix your burns." Dabi voice echoes through the door. You quickly get out not realizing how long youve been in. Wrapping your towel around you you head outside to your room where Dabi is sitting on the bed. You shut the door quietly as you waltz over to your closet grabbing some clothes. "Keep the shirt off." Dabi says cooly. You raise an eyebrow at him. "Calm down I have to wrap your burns just keep the towel to your chest." He says rolling his eyes. You slip behind your Shoji and and change into some white and blue underwear and dark grey sweatpants. You pull the towel up to your chest and walk out going to your bed. Dabi examines your burns as he slides his fingers gently over them making you suck in a breath. "Are you good enough to make some more aloe?" He asks. You nod your head in response and create a long aloe plant. He takes it from you opening it up taking some on his hand. He slowly presses it against your skin rubbing his hand up and down your side. "Um, Im gonna need you to move the towel over a little." He says gesturing to wear the burn continues. You slowly move it slightly over exposing the side of your breast. "Is it okay if I-" He starts. "Yes." You say cutting him off with more confidence than you feel. He puts it on the burnt part of your breast and gently massage's. This is the closest you all have been since your kiss and now that you now its Touya it feels surreal. You look over studying his face noticing the blood on his lip. Unconsciously you reach up and wipe it, letting your hand linger on his face. He looks up at you and your both quiet just staring at each other. "Touya.." You whisper out leaning your head onto his.
