"could you stop it already? we're going to be late." wooyoung's best friend, yeosang, tells him.
"give me a minute." wooyoung reaches for his cologne and sprays it on himself.
"i don't know why you put so much effort into your looks... it's school. why do you care so much about how you look?"
"who knows..." wooyoung shrugs. "maybe today will be the lucky day I run into seonghwa on my way there. i can't look ugly in front of him, okay? i need to look good."
"why would we run into him on our way to school? he has his own car... why would he take the bus?"
"you never know." wooyoung reaches for his backpack. "let's go."
yeosang picks up his backpack as well, before following him out of the house. the bus stop is only around five minutes from wooyoung's house, so they end up getting there in no time. they both have more than enough money to buy a car, but they don't have their drivers license yet, which is why they prefer taking the bus.
"we got here earlier than usual." wooyoung checks the time on his phone.
"maybe you'll end up running into your beloved-"
"shh!" wooyoung covers his mouth, earning weird looks from people around them. "why would you talk about him here?"
"haven't you heard about speaking something into existence? you say something and it ends up happening. it ends ups working most of the time."
"oh, okay." wooyoung nods. "so if i say i want to run into seonghwa right now, will he magically appear?" he crosses his arms over his chest.
"wow." yeosang's eyes widen and he smiles. "it worked."
"w-what?" wooyoung turns around a little too fast and sees seonghwa right in front of him.
wooyoung's about to smile at him and say hi, but seonghwa walks over to yeosang and stands next to him instead, then takes his phone out. wooyoung mentally facepalms himself. seonghwa was waiting for the bus right next to him, but since he turned around a little too fast and got too close to him, he scared him away. seonghwa must think he's really weird.
"do you know what time the bus passes by?" seonghwa asks yeosang. "this is the first time i take the bus in a while."
"it passes at 7:20."
"7:20." seonghwa repeats. "okay, thanks." he looks back down at his phone.
wooyoung feels his face heat up just by hearing seonghwa's voice. he may not have talked to him, but he finally noticed their existence. yeosang can't help but shake his head and smile when he sees the expression on his best friend's face.
he has been thinking of trying to get them to talk to each other... and he has actually tried to do it before. there was this one time that he pushed wooyoung towards seonghwa, wanting to help him finally talk to him.
the problem was that wooyoung got a little too nervous and ended up asking seonghwa about his family... even though the whole school knows he doesn't like talking about them. the only family member he has is his mother since his father left them when he was little.
so ever since they talked that time, seonghwa has avoided wooyoung. he probably thought wooyoung was making fun of him by asking those kind of questions.
he also wonders why it seems like wooyoung's everywhere he goes.
seonghwa would be lying if he said he wasn't a little weirded out by wooyoung. whenever he looks around, he always finds him staring at him.
when the bus stops in front of them, seonghwa gets in the bus and since wooyoung was too busy in his own little world, he ends up getting pulled into the bus by yeosang.
once they pay, yeosang looks around, trying to sit somewhere that's near seonghwa. he knows he shouldn't force it, but then again, what else could go wrong?
he knew speaking something into existence was a real thing, but he had no idea that just thinking about it made it happen too. what else could go wrong?
well...
as they're walking to their seats, the bus driver starts driving all of a sudden. wooyoung hadn't taken his seat, so he ends up falling right in front of seonghwa, causing other people in the bus to laugh.
"are you okay?" seonghwa asks him as wooyoung quickly stands up.
"yes. i just... yes." wooyoung nods and quickly goes sit next to yeosang. "that was so embarrassing." wooyoung covers his face with his hands. he's so tempted to just jump out of the bus through the window that's right next to his seat.
"it's okay. only a few people saw. it's not a big deal." yeosang smiles nervously, trying to cheer him up.
"but he did. that's embarrassing enough."
"you have a point." yeosang nods, not knowing how to cheer his best friend up. he just embarrassed himself in front of his crush. what could he possibly do to cheer him up?
once the bus comes to a stop after a few minutes, wooyoung quickly stands up and walks out of the bus. yeosang rushes out of the bus and tries to catch up with him.
as seonghwa stands up and is about to walk out, he sees something on the floor. he takes a closer look and sees it's an id card... wooyoung's school id card.
he needs it to be able to get into the school.
seonghwa quickly picks it up before rushing out of the bus to try and catch up with wooyoung.
when he gets to the school entrance, he sees wooyoung isn't there and for some reason, id's aren't being checked today.
"now what am i supposed to do?" seonghwa mumbles.
maybe he can ask his best friend yunho to give it back to him.
