(Hi so this is my first story, let me know what you think! This is kinda how I imagine Parker to look, btw each chapter will be pretty long and this one is very introductory)

Parker Grayson didn't like a lot of things. He didn't like snakes. Or hotdogs. He definitely didn't like his arsehole of an English teacher. He didn't like being confused. Or push-ups. He didn't like a lot of things in this world.

But there was one thing he hated in the world. Being ignored.

As soon as someone gave him the cold shoulder, he would retaliate with snarky comments and deathly glares. His naturally sassy and quick witted personality truly shined in those moments.

But he would get insecure. He would worry and doubt everything he'd ever done in his life. When someone ignored him, he would be torn up inside. Except he would never show it. That's just who he was.

Now as Parker was walking alone through the forest, he questioned why his best friend was ignoring him. He didn't do anything! He thought and thought, but nothing he did in the past 24 hours had been cold-shoulder-worthy. Or had he?

He wanted to scream in confusion and frustration. Gripping his blonde hair, he stomped his legs and groaned. Looking like a angry toddler wasn't a worry. He didn't care. All he wanted to know was why Tahlia was ignoring him.

They had been best friends their whole life's and nothing ever came between them. Not until now. Now Tahlia refused to talk to him for a whole day! A whole 24 hours! He couldn't help but feel angered by this.

How dare she ignore me! Who does she think she is? Just giving me the cold shoulder for no reason what so ever. He thought to himself.

But as memories came flooding back to Parker he reevaluated his thoughts. That time in primary school when he spilt water all over her bag. Or that time when they got caught ditching class and Tahlia took the blame. Also that time last year when she was trying to flirt with Tom from Chem class and Parker accidentally tripped her over. All those times he did something stupid. She forgave him.

Parker stopped in his tracks and slid down the trunk of a tree. "She's my best friend", he whispered to himself, "maybe she just needs space".

Deciding that was the most probable answer, he tried to let go of all his anxiety. But sadly it wasn't that easy. That's why he came to the forest.

He would always come to forest whenever he felt stressed or needed somewhere to think. Everything just seemed so much clearer here. As if when he stepped amongst the trees and plants, they told him all the answers he needed. The cool breeze helped him breathe easier, and the canopies above gave him protection from the harsh judgment of others.

It may sound stupid to other people, but the forest was the only place Parker felt safe. To others it may have seemed scary; the trees turning into shadows of tall, lanky axe murders. Or the silence was too eerie, like it was something out of a horror movie. But not to Parker. He knew the trees would protect him. Nothing would ever hurt him in this place. It was sacred.

Parker lifted his knees closer to his chest and breathed in the sweet scent of fresh air and nature. It reminded him of his Mum. Something about it was so familiar. Although he couldn't quite remember her, as she left mysteriously a few years back.

Everything was fine, her and his Dad weren't fighting. They weren't the arguing type of couple. They loved each other, they still do. She seemed happy and optimistic, content with life. Then one morning she was gone.

It broke Parker. Though he never admitted to it. He put on a brave face and supported his heartbroken Dad. No letters were left. No traces or evidence of where she went. Only one thing was gone: their family photo. It used to sit on Parkers bedside table. It was just a simple photo of the three of them. Just Parker, his Dad and Mum. He always wondered where she went. And why. He hated her for it. Well not really, he more hated what she did. She left them. She left her only child and her husband by themselves.
