When I wake up, the room is dark and empty. I can hear the faint sound of voices shouting at each other down the hall somewhere. I get up and put on some of my shoes and then wrap myself up in a cloak. When I open the door, I peer both ways to make sure there's no one there. Empty. Perfect.
I slowly shut the door, careful not to slam it like I normally do.
"Anna, what are you doing up?" A voice asks behind me. I roll my eyes and turn around to see Honeymaren standing there, shivering.
"I'm not laying in that bed anymore right now. Where's Kristoff?" I ask.
"He and Elsa have been fighting all night. Elsa even made all of the palace staff go home for the night," Honey says.
"What about?"
"You being queen..." she answers. Of course they have. Hopefully Kristoff at least took my side.
"I'm sorry Anna. I have no place in your royal matters. I wish I could help you," Honeymaren says. She bows her head and walks past me slowly and suddenly I feel bad. I follow her slowly and I peek into the common room, where Kristoff and Elsa are screaming at each other.
"Elsa...can I talk to you..." I ask. She and Kristoff jump nearly ten feet apart and she looks at me with her mouth agape.
"Sure..." she says.
"You better not pressure her," Kristoff says.
"Shut up!" Elsa says angrily. She steps out the door and shuts it, leaving Kristoff alone.
"I'm sorry..." I say. Elsa appears speechless.
"For what?" She asks.
"I'll do it. If going to the forest and being with Honeymaren and the spirits is what you want, then I'll take your place. We both know I love Arendelle with my whole heart. And it isn't fair to keep you here, miserable, when I know that all you want is to be free," I say. Elsa's jaw hangs open in shocks and she chokes a bit. She has no idea what to say.
"Anna I...I..." she says. Then her eyes tear up.
"Elsa are you okay?" I ask, reaching for her. I'm afraid I made her upset.
"I'm okay...I just never expected you to...well, agree so easily. But don't agree just because of me. Being queen is a big commitment, and you have to really want it," Elsa says.
"I know. And I...I do want it now. Because I want you to finally be happy. I realize it's selfish of me to blame you and put all this pressure on you to stay queen just because I am not ready to take over," I say.
"But you're not ready," Elsa says.
"But I can learn. I...I'm ready," I say and take her hands.
"Anna, are you sure?" Elsa asks. I nod and pull her into my arms.
"I'm so sorry," I say.
"I love you Anna," Elsa says.
"I love you too Elsa. And I want you to finally get what you want," I say.
"Okay...well let's go speak to the council. Our new queen," Elsa says. We put our arms around each other and walk down the hall together. Maybe it'll be worth it, if Elsa gets to he happy.

3rd Person POV: 3 months later
"Introducing her majesty, queen Anna of Arendelle!" The announcer says. Anna bows her head and the crown is placed on her head. She lifts her head up and looks out over the crowd of people who are cheering for her. She steps off the stage and Kristoff takes her hand as they walk down the aisle of people still cheering for her.
"What next?" Anna asks.
"Well, we have a party," Kristoff says. Anna laughs and links her arm in his as they go to the ballroom. Anna stands on the little stage in front of the royal chairs. She loses count on how many hands she shakes and how many people congratulate her.
"May I offer you your first dance as queen?" Kristoff asks.
"You may," Anna says with a flirty little giggle. Kristoff and Anna head out onto the dance floor and Elsa walks up to them.
"Honeymaren and I are going to get going to the forest. She needs to be back ASAP. I'm sure her parents are worried sick. Thank you so much, Anna. I love you," Elsa says and hugs her. Anna hugs her back and then hugs Honeymaren.
"Take care of my sister," Anna says.
"I promise," she says. Anna nods and swipes at her eyes before watching as Honey and Elsa leave.
"What do I do now?" Anna asks.
"Well, tonight we celebrate. And tomorrow, you are officially working as the queen," Kristoff says. She puts her arms around his neck and sways with him to the music and closed her eyes. She can pretend, for at least one moment, that things aren't about to change forever. And so she will.
The End.
