"why are you outside scarlett? huh ? You don't listen, i tell you to stay inside because your skin is horrible but what do you do? You choose to embarrass me , scarlett you chose to embarrass me!"

7 year old me just froze and stared at her. 7 year old me found it normal because she gets these scoldings everyday, it's nothing new.

"Mommy, i already bathed. I just wanted to play with rose and her friends"

She's so fragile , what a beautiful girl who tried embracing her skin but couldn't because she was told that having dark skin was a sin.

"Hello? spotty? you completely left me there" her husky voice brings me to the present. She stares at me with an unnecessary smile.  " why are you smiling, you're always smiling for no god damn reason" i rub my nose and wait for her response. "Because i once lost my smile, im happy that it's back, that you brought it back" she then smiles more and rubs my shoulder. "Oh cool, cool. I think i'll never find my smile ever again" she bites her lower lip and looks me in the eyes , what is happening? "You will, i promise. Thank you for making me happy" she swallows and moves closer to me" i nod my head ,"nah, its cool. Listen could you move a little, personal space. Why did you bring me here anyway? They're like no cameras and no one around us." She giggles , then snorts after that. "You're cute, you don't know why we're here?" I began to move my eyes around, hoping it'd hit my head but i didn't understand what was happening. She giggles again, "i like you, dude" she then giggles again, is she okay?

"I like you too friend, you know, i never thought i'd make fri-" just as i was about to finish my sentence, i feel her lush lips pushing against mine. Her soft hands rub against my cheeks.." woah, woah. What the hell are you doing? I thought we were here to chill, wait , you? Oh my " i jumped up and was in complete shock, she opened up mouth but didnt say anything.

Oh my goodness, shes been throwing signs my direction, why didn't i catch, i cant catch anything anyway.

You're cute ; the biting of her lips ; i  LIKE you !

She's been sending signals , i feel like an idiot.

" why are you surprised, i told you i was lesbian " she placed her hands on her waist and gave me an attitude look. "When did you tell me that? Dude this is crazy !" She popped her eyes open and transformed into this defense ninja who was filled with anger.

"This isn't crazy, this is me ! I told you when you took your weird vacation into space. Listen here, you will not insult who i am because you fail to find yourself. You could've been way more polite ! I thought you were different scar, i really did but you're, you're..argh"

She turned around so quickly, her box braids shined in the scorching sun and her pony tail swang right in front of my eyes . Her dark skin shun and her dark eyes turned light brown as she moves her head around the sun. She clicked her tongue so hard that it could've fallen off. I tried explaining that i didn't mean it in a rude way but she spoke so loud, i couldn't get a word out.

"Hey, you came back?" She turned around by the kissing tree, the kissing tree, how could i have not noticed. "No, i didn't , i just forgot my phone. Once you've learnt to respect others, maybe you can respect yourself as well..cause right now, you're being pathetic." she then left again.

"Why are you so quiet scarlett ?" Mom asked from the opposite side of the dinner table. Rose was tapping her phone's keyboard so hard, if it was a person, he would be screaming in pain right now. "I'm always quiet, what are you tal- oh yeah,when are we burying drew?" Rose put her phone down and stared at my mom. Mom's blue eyes looked into her food like she was solving an inevitable mystery..
