Rouge wave

chapter 3

During the midst of darkness with little light from the backup generators, people ,moaning shrieking and screaming in pain and fear. Trying to figure out what had just happened, calling out the names of their friends and love ones, a loud spark erupted from the chandelier's the lights slowly coming back on. Amongst the chaos of people trying to find loved ones or helping others somebody screamed " we're on the roof! We're on the roof!". The ballroom lights up revealing the utter chaos and devastation it had done after being pushed over, chairs were thrown everywhere in broken pieces, broken glass and tables.

Tom slowly sits up groaning from a head wound and brushes all the broken glass spread all over him and looks around and sees Severus walking around shouting their names with Lucius and Narcissa with him. People unbury themselves from furniture and help others who are hurt or catching then from the second level. Hadrian slowly wakes up and looks around in devastation and has a sudden realisation that Teddy isn't with him and starts looking around only to gasp at seeing the body of a women right in front of him, and turns to the left to see Robert pushing two dead bodies off of himself and he couldn't help the relief he felt at seeing he was alive.

" Robert! Are you ok?" he shouts worriedly while crawling over to him and helping him get up. "I'm fine Hadrian" he calmly says before Hadrian gasps shouting "TEDDY!".

Back at the nightclub/disco there are sparks and lights sweeping all over the place. Trampled girders everywhere and water all over the wooden floor with people falling over in their hurry to escape. Hermione is looking everywhere shouting "RON!DRACO" until she spots Ron trapped under a girder unconscious.

"RON!" she shouts going over to him and stroking his head when he starts awake with a gasp. "Hermione!, my legs pinned" and they start trying to pull it off him only to realise they need more than two people. "help! Help!" until she grabs Elena's arm begs her " please! I can't lift this on my own" whilst pointing at Ron. They both go back to the girder and start trying to lift it counting to 3 and all pulling at the same time.

"TEDDY!" Hadrian shouts over and over along with Robert over until he hears a whispered "oh my god" so he looks over and sees Robert looking up and he slowly looks up scared of what he's going to see and gasped in absolute horror and relief when he sees Teddy on the bottom of the piano crying.

" get away from the edge! Be careful!" Hadrian shouts, while Robert gets some people to grab a long red curtain from the wall and hold it up and Robert shouts up at him " alright Teddy I want you to sit at the edge and on my count jump! You'll be fine I promise!" and they count on three and Teddy jumps and lands onto the curtain. Hadrian grabs him as soon and he lands, picks him up and hugs him tight while mumbling 'it's okay, your alright'.

A stage light bursts into sparks, the sparks fly everywhere only for a loose cable to fall into the water and start electrocuting people and setting them on fire, more screams are heard as people try to get away and out of the water. Hermione and Elena jump startled and stare horrified at what is happening in front of them and they hug each other tightly to not watch the nightmare inducing sights. It finally stops and they stand there looking at the sight while trying to breathe and not cry. They turn back to Ron when they hear him trying to get the girder off and think for a minute until Hermione comes up with an idea.

" we need something to leverage this" she says distractedly and goes to stand but Ron grabs her hand saying 'No!' and they look at each other until Elena says as bravely as she can "I'll go....it's just dead people right?"

" now were not entirely sure what happened but our best guess is we were struck by something known as a rogue wave, they're rare unpredictably and they are lethal. Now the good news, the moment this ship was struck emergency GPS signals were launched and we are at most several hours from rescue" Bradford calmly says only to be interrupted " are we sinking!" "how do we get out!" and everyone starts shouting until he puts his hand up " please follow the directions of my crew and stay calm this room is a giant air bubble holding up the ship. We will be safe here"

Tom while listening moves over to the plastic plaque on the wall ,with a quick word to Lucius, that shows a single deck plan and a silhouetted shape of two funnelled ocean liners, it shows where they are; in the ballroom but specifically the second level, he drags his finger and moves it along to what seems to be the bulbous bow.

Everyone starts moving around until Hadrian hears someone shout his name. " Hadrian!" he recognises the voice as Severus and turns around only to be immediately pulled into a hug but being mindful of Teddy who he still has in a death grip. "thank god your ok" he mumbles into his hair.

Hadrian lets Teddy down as he's pulled into two more hugs until he notices him next to Tom who is looking through peoples things and grabs a torch and a pocket knife. " where are you going" teddy asks following him, " we're going up, staying here isn't safe"

Robert was panicking and would not accept that he had to stay here. His daughter is out there and he's going o go get her, he spots Bradford and calls him over "my daughter is at the nightclub with her fiancé and friend, me and a group of 6 are planning to find a way out of here I think we should convince some people it's not safe here" he desperately says.

" I'm sorry but it's my best conclusion that we stay here, many people are injured and I urge you to stay" Bradford argues. " im going to find my daughter nothing will stop me from doing it" Robert fiercely exclaims then walks off to join the others.

The group of seven all start planning a way to get out and head towards the disco but they don't know where the closest vertical access is, then Robert spots someone in waiter clothing and grabs him " hey! Hey! You work here right? Where's the vertical access?" he says when he nods, he starts explaining but Lucius goes over and says " whatever you earn in a year ill double it right now" he drawls with determination, the waiter holds up three fingers and he Lucius says 'done'. Once they have a plan Tom makes sure everyone is there and they start climbing the stair case that fell down, Robert and Severus at the back with Tom and Lucius at the front.
