Poem (Letter) - Dear men

Dear (not all) men,
Why do you look at me as a synonym for weak ? Behind my skin which looks as soft as the petals of rose,
Lies a powerful flesh which grew up from many lows, but it was looking at the petals and not thorns you chose.

And Dear (not all) men,
Do you have a mother, by whom you were embraced ? Who goes through a lot but still keeps a smile pasted on her face ?
'Respect women' did she never say?

And Dear (not all) men,
I felt a bit sad when I wore a crop top and shorts and you couldn't stop staring, but as the time passed I realised, I should stop caring.
Think about those women who are beaten behind the closed doors, whose freedom struggle no one knows,
Everyday through mental torture she goes,
But still outside the house her pain she never shows, but still laughing at her helplessness, you chose.

And dear (not all) men,
Every female fights hard in her mother's womb to not get killed,
She tries hard to hide herself from the machines we built.
Be it your mother, sister or love, with plethora of emotions wasn't your heart filled ?
Most of the wounds that you had, didn't she heal ?

And Dear (not all) men,
Stop labelling us as weak and not an asset,
'Cause the day we show up our thorns you will be the one who will regret.

Yours affectionately,
A women, a mother, a daughter,  a sister, a wife
