Sophie and Keefe quickly scrambled apart, both their faces bashful. Sophie tugged at her hair, hoping that if she couldn't see Fitz, he couldn't see her. Unfortunately it didn't work like that.

"Sooooo....I hope we weren't interrupting anything..."

Ro smirked at the pair, and Keefe shot her a look.

"No, in fact Foster and I were just about to come in."

Keefe pulled Sophie by the hand, and she gratefully took the escape from that embarrassing moment. As she shuffled past Fitz, she worked up to courage to look at his face.

She wished she hadn't.

Fitz's expression was a mix of hurt, anger, sadness, and something else she couldn't quite put her finger on.

But soon enough Keefe and her were through the doorway, and surrounded by the noise of the Christmas celebration once more. Sophie turned to Keefe and found herself at a loss for words.

What was she supposed to say to the boy she just kissed?!!

Sophie resisted the urge to tug at her eyelashes.

What if he didn't like it?? What if he thought she was a bad kisser?!

She should've asked if he even wanted to kiss her, what if he didn't want to be her friend after this!?

Sophie was staring at the ground, studying her shoes.

"Hey Foster, you okay?"

"I-I I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have done that, I understand f you want to leave"

Sophie lowered her head, crestfallen.

Keefe stared off in the distance for a second, wondering how in the world could someone so brave, talented, determined, and inspirational be so insecure about an experience that, in his opinion, went great. More than great even, amazing, wonderful, and-

"Keefe?"

He can't even look at me... he can't even say anything...that's how bad I was...?

Sophie let out a sob, and pushed past Keefe, running to her room, face in her hands. She stumbled in and slammed the door. Her sobs audible from the hallway.

The rest of the party was still going strong, elves laughing, sharing stories and exchanging jokes. A few dancing and shimmying here and there, and Keefe would've joined them, except he needed to go after Sophie.

As he started to move towards her room, Ro and Fitz, finally decided to rejoin the fun. And to top it off so did Bo and Sandor.
