Chapter 5: Strange company

*Hiccup POV*

I was walking my usual hunting round in the forest when I heard rustling in the bushes. Immediately I got an arrow ready on my bow, waiting for my prey to come out. Judging by the rustling I thought it was something small like a bunny. But I wasn't really sure. I've only been doing this for like 6 months maybe even shorter.

It was quit in the bushes again. I really wanted to go back to the house before Toothless and the other dragons burn it to the ground, and I started to get hungry. So I threw a rock at the bush that I picked up from the ground.

Suddenly there was a flash of black and white feathers. And I laid on the ground with two pretty big birds on top of me. Staring at me with anger in their eyes.

It were to big black eagles with white heads. There not really common on this side of the archipelago. I wondered what they were doing here know the ground in a bush.

The left bird was holding his or her wing in a weerd position. Then I realized that the bird must have a broken wing and the other was probably protecting his or her mate.

I tried to carefully sit up causing the bird to walk down and sit onto my legs. The one with the broken wing, I think it was the female, tried to look threatening but failed to hold up her wing.

She reminded me a lot of Toothless, he also wasn't able to fly when I found him. The only difference was that she could fly again when here wing is healed but Toothless couldn't anymore. I wanted to help the eagles so that they could be free from the ground again.

But how can you convince eagles that you want to help them after you threw a rock at them? Most people would say you can't. But not me, I'm not most people. Most people also wouldn't ride a dragon and look where that got me: trying to find a way to help to birds...

I could talk to them maybe they understand me.

'Uhmm, hi mis and mister eagle' I said.

Oh gods, are you serious hiccup?? You called them mis and mister eagle?

But one of the eagles, the one with the broken wing, looked at me as is she understood me.

'I see you have a broken wing' I said while pointing to the damaged wing. 'I could fix that for you if you want to?'

The other eagle seemed to understand me as well. He looked from me to the wing of his mate. The female began making noises to her mate: They seemed to be having a conversation. After a minute or two they seemed to have agreed to an answer.

They looked at me with a hint of expectation in there eyes. I don't know if I imagined it but it looked like the female nodded her head.

Wow, can't believe that worked...

'I got a healing kit at home. It's a half hour walk from here. I could carry you both on my shoulders if you guys don't mind?'

They really seemed to understand me because the male spread his huge wings, flew up to the trees and came down onto my right shoulder.

The female obvious couldn't fly to my shoulder so I gently picked her up and put her on my shoulder. Then I started to walk my way back to my house.

When I almost reached the house I could Toothles playing with the other dragons. And it sounded like they were breaking down the forest, literally...

Stepping out if the woods I saw a gronckle hovering in the air with a tree trunk in it's mouth and Toothless jumping up and down on the ground. Next to him a nightmare who was laughing at the scene. Apparently they were playing catch the trunk. Toothless mostly disliked this game seen the fact he can't fly without me and I'm mostly hunting when he is playing.

So I decided to go up to them and let my overprotective bud know that I'm back. Only then the manly eagle began to protest and flew off of my shoulder but then realized that his mate couldn't fly with him and came back to me. Toothless noticed me and before I knew it my face was covered in dragon saliva.

'Uggh gross bud, you know that doesn't wash out!' I complained. He just chuckled to himself.

Suddenly he became quiet and stared at my shoulders. The manly eagle had landed on my shoulder ones again.

'Right, Toothless meet miss and mister eagle. Miss and mister eagle meet Toothless, my dragon.'

I'M SO SO SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING FOR LIKE A MONTH!!!
It's that I was really busy with school and with my job and all so here is a chapter hope you like it, you'll probably not, but I thought that I should post it anyway.
