Since Arnav was so concerned, Khushi decided to let things be, and they spent the rest of the day together in their suite casually. At night, they went to bed together, Arnav holding her in his arms, Khushi snuggling right into him.
When morning came, Khushi found Arnav still asleep beside her. He looked ever so peaceful, Khushi unable to look away from him. A small smile played on his lips, which made Khushi wonder what he was dreaming about. But the thought was quickly muddled, Arnav's phone coming to life on the bedside table, causing him to wake up.
"What the," Arnav grumbled.
With his eyes still closed, he reached out for his phone, patting his hand around until he got hold of it. Khushi couldn't help but to grin in amusement, watching him try to find his phone then pick it up, only to be holding it upside down.
"Khushi, my eyes won't open," he grumbled again. "Could you pick it up for me?"
Shaking her head with a grin, Khushi turned the phone around in his hand and saw that it was Anjali calling. She took the call, then moved the phone to Arnav's ear.
"Hello," he said groggily.
Khushi couldn't hear what Anjali said, but whatever it was, made Arnav groan.
"Khushi, could you put it on speakerphone," he groaned.
She tilted her head with a frown, but did as he asked, and Arnav dropped the phone on his chest.
"Hmm," he groaned once more.
"Honestly, did you get any sleep at all," Anjali huffed.
"It's because I got a proper, full night's sleep that I'm so out of it," Arnav groaned.
"Ah! Being chivalrous, are we?"
Too chivalrous, but it's sweet, Khushi thought to herself.
"Anyways," Anjali continued, "I just wanted to let you know that Ma and the others just called. They just left the Kapoor's camp thing."
Arnav's eyes instantly opened. "Wait, what-!"
"Relax! It's going to take them like four to five hours to get back. You have more than enough time to get back and act like you two weren't away on a romantic getaway."
Khushi couldn't help but to blush slightly, glancing at Arnav.
"I just hope you guys haven't ended up actually putting a bun in the oven-"
"Okay! Hanging up now, be home soon," and Arnav hung up the phone.
His eyes immediately darted to Khushi, finding her to be blushing harder.
"I thought Avantika was the chatterbox," Arnav huffed. "Even she's been failed by Di's pregnancy brain."
No kidding, Khushi frowned.
Letting out another huff, Arnav collapsed down onto Khushi's lap and wrapped his arms around her. At first, Khushi was surprised by his actions, but then she began to run her fingers through his hair, comforting her.
"I think last night was my best night's worth of sleep yet," he mumbled against her.
Oh? And why is that?
"Something about sleeping next to you seems to be working for me," and she could feel him smile against her.
Well, it's not like you didn't sleep next to me the night before that- well, after the... um... activities.
Khushi looked away as her cheeks heated once more from the memories of that night.
"It's going to be a while before this can happen again, isn't it," and he let out another groan.
