Khushi's fib of being hungry obviously wasn't true, but she ate the food Arnav had placed before her. However, as she ate, she glanced around at the family, who were all clearly worked up over something, especially Amoli.
I wonder what the problem is?
"Will someone explain why Ma looks like she's gonna stab someone," Arnav asked.
Seriously.
"I think she'd rather stab them, bring them back to life, then stab them again," Anjali frowned.
"And then bring them back to life again before she stabs them once more," Avantika frowned as well.
Khushi's eyes widened as they darted over to Amoli. Oh my!
"Being a little dramatic, aren't we girls," Vijay frowned.
Both of his daughters only arched their brows at him, making him glance between them and his wife.
"Maybe not," he muttered.
Amoli rolled her eyes. "I can't believe people can be so backwards minded even in these times."
"What do you mean," Arnav frowned.
"I don't know what you were expecting but you can't expect everyone to be as posh as us," Deviyani said, crossing her arms as she looked away.
"Huh?"
Amoli rolled her eyes. "I may have gotten a little too excited and let slip to the other missus how you and Khushi will be getting married."
Khushi's eyebrows shot up. Oh!
Arnav could only frown. "Okay... so?"
"Those fucking bitches and their stuck up noses had the nerve to laugh!"
Both Arnav and Khushi looked at her in shock.
"Amoli," VIjay frowned.
"Oh stop it," she exclaimed, "you know I've got the mouth of a trucker when I want to."
"Ain't that the truth," Deviyani frowned, tilting her head.
Arnav shook his head clear. "Wait, what?"
"Basically what mom's trying to say," Avantika said, "is that the other rich mom's are assholes."
"Avantika," Amoli scolded. "...although she's correct."
"Huh," Arnav frowned.
"Basically," Anjali began, "what happened was Ma told some of the other aunties about how she wants you and Khushi to get married and the aunties... laughed," she said lowly in the end.
Khushi's eyes slightly widened before she looked down at her lap. Of course they did.
"Now Khushi, you will lift your chin up," Amoli lightly scolded, causing Khushi to look at her.
But-
"What those backwards minded people want to think, can think as they wish. They want to act all haughty and high class, but everyone knows they're not."
"That's why I said not everyone can be as posh as us," Deviyani said, waving her hand out as if it were obvious.
"You're right Ma! Screw them all! My son loves Khushi, and Khushi loves him in return, who the hell are these bitches-"
"Amoli," Vijay lightly scolded once more.
"To say anything," she continued.
Vijay let out a sigh. "She's on a roll tonight, alright."
