I've been working here for 2 months now and it's been swell.
I've made a few friends. A few enemies too because some people are just assholes and I refuse to be a taken for a fool.

First week of working here, I made a few mistakes which I feel was perfectly normal at a new job but I got to know that certain people were deliberately setting me up for failure. They were giving me tasks that they knew a newcomer would not be able to do.

I never complained. It just made me more determined to do better. As time passed, I fished out the good ones from the bad ones and have been content since.

It took me a few days to find out that the guy I saw on my interview date was the writer that was in charge of my team.

I also found out that he was the son of the owner of the company. He didn't seem like the typical rich kid with a snobby behavior when I first met him but the few times I've seen him these past months, he acted reserved.
He has a reputation of being aloof according to my colleagues.

That didn't stop me from buying all his books. I wanted to see what kind of person he was like.

I read it at my free time every day. His style of writing was different. There was always humor in it no matter how gory it was.

It was time for lunch break. My eyes hurt from looking at the screen all day and I decided to go to this cute restaurant few blocks from the office. I was craving fried rice and turkey for some reason.

I walked in, got a table in the far corner, got my order in and sat down.

I was looking at the window admiring the view of busy Lagos when I noticed a presence beside me.
I turn then see it's "my writer"

I started calling him my writer the more I read his books. It's like the more I turned the pages, the closer to him I got.

He smiles and asks to sit beside me. I notice the restaurant is busy and there's virtually no space so I understand why he picked to sit with me.

He apologizes for the inconvenience then calls the waiter to order his food.

We're both sitting there awkwardly not saying anything and then I jump in surprise when my phone blares out.

My mum is calling to check on me. I feel a little bad that I haven't been giving her attention lately. I haven't really been able to go home on weekends because there's always work to do somehow.

I pick the call, reassure her that I'm okay. Ask her how she's doing and if she's taking care of herself and my dad. I notice he's staring at me not even bothering to hide that he's listening in on my conversation. I rush to say goodbye and promise to call her more then I turn to him.

He smiles shyly and asks me about my ringtone. It's one of the soundtracks to a BL anime I'm obsessed with. Apparently he watches it too. We strike a conversation about it and move on to talk about other related anime.

Our food arrived and we chatted as we ate. I noticed it was getting close to the end of my lunch break so I bid farewell to him, dropped a tip for the waiter and then I brisk walked back to my office.

It wasn't until 2 hours after when I finally got a breather that I realized that we basically talked about only Boys love and Yaoi anime.

I have a lot of online friends who are into BL like me but they're mostly gay. Straight guys claim to not watch it.
I finally meet someone that's into it face to face and it gets to be my boss. I actually don't know how to feel.

I'm sitting down wondering if my boss is straight when the subject of my distraction shows up in front of me.
