Layla's pov

Laughter filled the room as Dawn twirled around in circles. She had been doing this for about two minutes now. It amazed me how much fun she was having just by spinning.

"Dawn, you're going to get dizzy!" Genevieve stated, from her spot on the couch, Jacob sitting next to her.

"Yeah, princess come here." Jacob held his arms out for her but, she giggled and came running to me.

My heart melted as I picked her up to sit on my lap, her beautiful big brown eyes looking up at me. She was so beautiful and I couldn't believe this was my brothers daughter. She was my niece, I was an aunt.

"Don't let daddy gets me!" she squealed, hiding her face in my shoulder, holding onto me tighter.

Jacob smiled at me as well as Genevieve. I was really glad to be here at their house to spend some time with them. As yesterday's madness at the ceremony was just stressful. But, being here filled me with a new type of happiness. Landon had alpha duties to tend to but, he said he'd meet me here later on.

Which I was also excitingly waiting for, I miss him. Even if it had only been a couple hours, I'm always around him. So it's weird for me if he's not there when I turn my head.

"I'm going to get dinner started." Genevieve said softly with a smile, she got up and was about to walk away but, Jacob grabbed her.

"Kiss?" he asked, with a pout and Dawn shook her head, scrunching up her nose.

"Yucky." she covered her eyes and I laughed.

Genevieve leaned down, to kiss Jacob while I looked away. Hiding myself in Dawn's shoulder, rubbing her back.

"Don't loot! It will hurt your eyes." she whispered, I could only coo at how adorable she was.

'I want a pup!' Mia shouted, I blushed at her words but, in my heart I did too.

"Alright, Dawn why don't you come with me so aunt Layla can spend some time with dad." Genevieve said, and I looked up from her shoulder, to see her hand offered out.

"But, I want to spend time." she murmured, with a pout.

"Hey." I said, she looked at me, her arms crossed, "When you come back we can spend all the time in the world, go help your mom." I tickled her sides a bit, and kissed her cheek.

She giggled, "Otay!" she jumped off my lap, running to take her mother's hand and they were off to the kitchen.

"She loves you already." Jacob stated, with a grin on his face, shifting so he was facing me.

"I love her already." I laughed a bit, doing the same.

"I'm happy you're here." he said, "I just really want to make up for all the time we've lost." his tone sounded stressed.

"We will, don't worry." I gave him a reassuring smile.

He sighed in content, "Good, so please tell me what you've been doing for the past eighteen years besides the you know." his eyes shaded over, the anger he had about what happened to me surfacing.

"I draw." I replied quickly, to change his mindset, "And I read, there's this book called Animal Farm it's my favorite." I smiled, thinking of how I read it to Landon.

"That's amazing, maybe one day you can show me some of your drawings." his tone laced with genuine excitement and I nodded, while he leaned over placing his elbows on his knees.

"Of course, maybe I'll even draw you." I laughed a bit and he did too.

"I like to read as well, although Animal Farm is a great book, I go for more of a Diary of a Wimpy Kid kinda book." he sounded really proud as he said this.
