" Bye Mia, see ya tomorrow!" I waved at her as I walked out of her room. Corine and Varian had already left a few minutes earlier, I stayed with Mia for a couple of minutes to make sure she was fine. I could feel her shaking when she hugged me.

" See you tomorrow." Mia waved back.

I tried to look back at her, just to make sure she was still fine, but her doors were already closed.

Mia closed the doors and fell to the ground with her back pressed against them.

She sighed as she looked down at her shaking hands. She wanted nothing more than to open the doors again and tell Olivier to get out immediately while she still could. Mia's guilty conscience had been keeping her up for hours lately.

Olivier couldn't even begin to understand how this place works, even if we met every night for a year. Mia looked over at her king sized bed, full of throw pillows, before hanging her head down again. She's drowning and she doesn't realize it.

" I mean is it still considered drowning when someone's holding your head under water ?" A voice suddenly echoed throughout Mia's room.

Her head snapped up to see that there was now a person sitting on her bed, picking up the throw pillows one by one and tossing them to the side.

Mia glared at the man," Why are you here Athan ?"

Athan threw a pink throw pillow onto the floor as he spoke," Celia said you can see him tonight."

Mia sighed," Really ?"

Athan groaned and took a deep breath," Well, I've been keeping an eye on you and you've been following the rules so far, plus he really isn't doing too hot. I didn't realize how much of an effect being away from your mate could have on you wolves. Seeing him like that makes me sooo relieved to be a witch."

Witches relied heavily on being in a coven to maintain the purity of their magic, so it was capital punishment to be banished from the coven. A punishment that was only given to those who performed forbidden magic and got caught. Athan Barlow was no stranger to breaking rules, and magic was no exception.

" I'm happy to hear that." Mia said as she stood up," So you said I could see him, right ? You'll take me to him, right ?"

" Yeah, yeah, just gimme a sec. Transportation magic takes a lot out of me, especially with how far this place is." Athan pushed himself off the bed and lazily stood up," You could stand to sound a little less desperate, it kinda ticks me off when you act like that."

She was desperate though.

" Sorry." Mia said, bringing her hands in front of her to fiddle with her thumbs.

" Okay." Athan stretched his arms up before shaking them to his side and looking over at Mia," Why are you just standing there, come here or I'll leave without you and tell him he'll have to wait a bit longer."

" Sorry, I'm coming." Mia quickly said as she scurried over to Athan's side.

" You know the drill, kitten, hold on." Athan smiled at his nickname. It wasn't a term of endearment, he simply thought she looked a lot like the hairless cats with all the shaking she did.

Mia grabbed onto him, and the two were suddenly surrounded by a blinding light before it faded to reveal their surroundings had changed.

" He's in cell four." Athan waved," Probably crying himself to sleep again or something. You have fifteen minutes."

Mia turned to face Athan," I don't know where -"

Athan flipped his phone around to show Mia the timer that was counting down," I'd get a move on if I were you."
