"No," he mumbled under his breath, tears streaming down his cheeks. "Where are you?"
In his hand, he clutched the note she had written for him. He knew that she made a huge effort to write such a long note for him without being able to see what was actually in front of her. The clumsy handwriting, the crooked lines, he didn't mind it at all.
If only he had been there earlier.
If only he spent the earlier part of the day with her.
Then, he wouldn't have been so heartbroken.
He thought of the happy times they had together. They did not have many memories together. He could do anything else but not what she asked him to do which she wrote in the note, which was to be happy.
His heart ached so badly, it was beating so fast that he could practically hear it in his own ears. Would she really come back for him?Was she really telling the truth? His tears continued strolling down his cheeks as he collapsed onto the ground, her note still in his hand, with only one thought in mind.
