Clarissa Dovey POV:
With the Trial by Tale, The Ball, and Sophie's Possible Nemesis Dreams, there was so much that I had to take care of. Lady Lesso had left and I needed to digest all the information. However, I wasn't alone for long. I soon heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." I called.
Agatha came in. She looked slightly pale, but it was hard to see because of her already transparent skin.
"I'm sick." She said coughing into her arm.
Busy, I didn't look up from my piece of parchment in my hands.
"Ginger tea and two slices of grapefruit. Repeat every two hours." I say sternly, wanting to get Agatha out of my room as quickly as possible.
"I tried that." She says.
Agatha was now coughing a little harder.
"Now's not the time to miss class, Agatha," I said, stacking papers under a sparkling pumpkin weight. "Less than a month before the Ball and I want to make sure our fourth ranked student in prepared for the most important night of her young life! Do you have an everboy in mind?"
Agatha exploded into a coughing fit and I looked up, alarmed.
"Feels like... plague." She wheezed.
I went paper white. So many important events coming up and then I have a student possibly infected with the plague. I had her quarantined in her room to make sure that Agatha didn't spread her illness. Even though I was concerned about Agatha's health, I had other priorities. I got back to planning the ball, listing pupils for the trial
The next day, Emma Anemone came into my office while I was writing a letter to a parent. Her wild hair was all over the place and she was wearing a rose gold gown.
"Clarissa, where is Agatha, she wasn't in beautification today, or princess etiquette." Emma said.
I sigh. I was so busy wrapped up in my thoughts that I had forgotten to Emma and the other professors about Agatha.
"I'm afraid Agatha won't be in class for a while." I say, "She's seriously ill."
"The Ginger tea and grapefruit didn't help?" Emma asks confused.
My eyes widen in frustration. It was like my conversation with Agatha all over again.
"Agatha has the symptoms of plague," I explain. I stood up and my voice was rising louder. "Grapefruit and tea didn't work. She is being quarantined in her room until she is better."
I feel a rush of cool wind hit my face when I finish speaking. I take a deep breath and face Emma who is looking at me curiously.
"Are you alright Clarissa?" She asks. "You seem a little distressed."
I sit back down on my chair. I was little frustrated and stressed. Normally I would go and talk to Lady Lesso, but she was busy today, dealing with Nevers' behaviour and finding a beast. I wanted to tell Emma what Lady Lesso had told me, however, we didn't have solid evidence yet.
"I'm okay, a little tired." I reply, going back to my letter.
A fairy came over and grabbed my finished letter and went to deliver. I thought Emma would leave. Instead Emma pointed her finger next to me and conjured a chair. She walked over and sat down. I tried to ignore her, not wanting to talk about what I know, but when I tried to start writing again, Emma grabbed my left hand.
"Clarissa, please tell me what's going on." She asks staring into my eyes.
I place my quill on my desk and stare down.
"The Storian's tale is about Agatha and Sophie." I whisper.
Emma drops my hand in surprise.
"What? Are you sure? They're best friends."
"No Emma. Their Nemesis'." I say.
"Are you sure? I mean Sophie wouldn't be walking around telling everybody!"
"Grimm." I reply.
Emma's eyes widen. She understands. The animal sidekicks embody their master. The sidekicks know how their owners feel inside, even if the person doesn't know it themselves.
"Oh, my I thought Agatha having the Plague was the problem, but..."
Emma trailed off. I knew she was thinking about the other students like I was. She was a teacher, I didn't need to be a Fairy Godmother to know that.
Emma stood up.
"I should get back to my office." She says and quickly rushed out of my room.
It was nearing the end of the day. I yawned and layed in my bed thinking of Sophie and Agatha. How could they be Nemesis'? They're best friends. Much like Lesso and I. When I couldn't think of anything more to think about the two girls, I started to drift to sleep as I thought about Lady Lesso.
