Lady Lesso POV:
"Clarissa you have to punish these students!" I say after Clarissa Dovey tells me what she did with Agatha. "Student's aren't going to learn if you let them off so easily."
I closed the door so no student would hear us.
"I send students to the Doom Room for being late," I exclaim. "You didn't even punish Agatha."
"Two days locked in her room would be punishment enough." She replies.
"What is that going to teach the children? Break the rules and you won't get in trouble?" I sneer.
I can't understand how Clarissa thinks that her students are going to learn with no consequences. I looked at Clarissa who was sitting quietly on a chair next to my desk. I sit down and stare at the dark oak bookcase, waiting for her response.
"Lesso, You may punish and torture your students, but the good forgive." She says calmly. "You're forgetting that my students are good not evil."
There we go, Good versus Evil. I can't help but scowl when Clarissa talks about good and Evil. I wonder why students don't like Evil, Good gets away scot free.
"I heard that Sophie was getting first in challenges." She says, clearly noticing the scowl on my face. "Maybe August was right."
"Sophie claims she's good. Maybe the School Master made a mistake," I say still angry. "Just like he made a mistake adding Readers to our school."
Clarissa sighs. "Lady Lesso, we have to trust the School Master and his judgement."
Clarissa Dovey was the Empathetic, Optimistic side to my Pessimistic, Cold Hearted personality. I took a breath then looked at the clock.
"I have a class." I say realizing that my class starts in a few minutes. Clarissa and I leave my office and go our separate ways.
When class begins I notice four students missing. I start the lesson on Famous Nemeses, testing the first years. Fifteen minutes in Tall, red streaked, black haired Hester, Albino Anadil, Fat, brown haired Dot, and Sophie walk into the classroom. I gave them a threatening glare.
"I would send you for punishment, but they're occupied with students from my last class." I say looking at the four girls.
Screams Echo from the Doom Room which frightens the class, but I ignore it and go back to testing the class.
"Hester, can you name the villain who destroyed her Nemesis with a Nightmare Curse?" I ask.
"Finola the Fairy Eater." She says.
"Correct! Finola the Fairy Eater! One of the most famous stories of all!" I beam.
"Anadil, name a villain who killed their Nemesis using disguise." I ask.
"Rabid Bear Rex." The Albino says.
"A Great role model for us all, Rabid Bear Rex!" I exclaim. "If he was alive, he'd wipe that grin off every one of Clarissa's gloating cockerels." I added remembering the anger I felt during my conversation with Clarissa.
"Dot, Name a villain who murdered their Nemesis with transformation?" I ask.
"The Frost Queen!" Dot replies.
"My favorite tale of all!" I thunder. "A story that will live forever in the hearts of-"
The reader snorted.
"Is something funny?" I ask, genuinely curious.
"I never heard of any of these." She says.
"Never Heard of them?" I sneer, "These are Evil's greatest triumphs!"
"Where I come from, no one would read a story where Evil wins. Everyone wants Good to win because Good had better looks, nicer clothes and more friends." Sophie says.
I'm speechless but then I become furious. Readers don't know about Evil's wins?! I knew it all along but the Reader confirms it. The School Master only shared stories about Good, and they won the last two hundred years. This seals the deal. The SchoolMaster was on Good's side for sure.
She says more things to the class then turns to me. "While I have the floor here's a bit of a brain teaser. It's quite important that I solve it, so any help would be deeply appreciated. What does a Villain never have that a princess can't do without? Any ideas? Feel free to shout them out."
I know the answer, and it burns inside of me, but my fury takes over and instead of the answer I say, "I have an idea."
"I knew you would." She says smiling, not knowing what I'm going to say. "What is it? What do I have that you don't?"
I put my face close to hers, "Nothing. Which is what we'll be hearing from you the rest of the class." I say. My finger glows violet and seals Sophie's lips shut. I also place a wart on her forehead, turn around and smooth my purple gown. For a split second, there is a smirk on my face in satisfaction. The rest of the students were frozen in fear but I couldn't care less.
After class I grab the stack of papers I have to mark and the books in my classroom and go up to my office, muttering to myself.
"Yuba's complaining about Forest Group #2, because it's five Nevers and one Ever, The Doom Room is booked for the next two days, we need other punishing methods, Plus Clarissa and I need to sort out a meeting with the Empress of Putsi, Castor has been trying to pun..." I bump into someone else. My papers fly out of my arms, and the books drop to the floor with a loud thud. I look up and see Clarissa rubbing her forehead where we collided and then bend down to pick up the books and papers.
I raise an eyebrow. "Why would Clarissa Dovey, the Dean of Good be wandering the School of Evil hallways?" I ask in a playful, and harsh tone.
"I have to talk to you." She says handing me back all the papers I dropped.
We rush across the halfway bridge, up the Charity tower and into Clarissa's office. I survey the room. Nothing seemed different, except, on Clarissa's desk, there was a stack of papers under a pumpkin paper weight, and a couple of pens in the corner. In the middle was a letter Addressed to the teachers of Good and Evil.
