It May Be

Lady Lesso POV:

I don't understand why the sidekick creatures are mandatory at this school. All they cause is chaos and mess. It was the first morning and I already had to deal with the Trolls who tossed Nevers out the window, the stampeding Satyrs stealing lunch baskets, and baby dragons setting desks on fire. Clarissa comes into my classroom, taking the clothespin off her nose.

"Lesso, I need your help getting everything in order at my school." She says. "You seem to have everything under control."

Clarissa looked around my classroom and the hallways which were completely still and empty. Then a large clang came from another room. Clarissa and I rushed out of my classroom and into Sheeba Sheek's classroom, where a troll had created a large hole in the wall. The large and small pieces of stone on the floor. The troll grabs green skinned Archanne by the leg and dangles her out the tower. The other students yell in fright. I shoot the troll with a spell, controlling him to put Archanne down. Clarissa uses her wand to seal the hole, and I bring everyone back to their seat as if nothing had happened. Just then another scream came from another hallway. I smell smoke and quickly rush to the hallway where the scream had come from, with Clarissa and other teachers on my tail. A baby dragon had set the hallway on fire, the students ran around screaming frantically. I manage to put the fire out with ease, but there are screaming students and crashing all over the castle. I shoot Clarissa a look, telling her that I can't help her, before I run off again. Clarissa understands and runs back to her Castle. For the entire day the faculty of Evil ran around the school putting out fires, saving the students, and fixing up the school. However, even with the teachers helping the best they could, there were so many accidents that the fairies had to set up a makeshift infirmary to treat the injured. After that day, I layed in bed from the moment I got to my office late that night.

On the third day of creature sidekicks, most students seemed to have their creatures under control, and for the first time in three day, I crossed the hallways bridge to the School of Good to see Clarissa Dovey. We were so busy cleaning up after the Creatures' accidents over the last three days, that we couldn't even be away from out school for a minute, let alone have a conversation with each other. I just walk in, feeling uncomfortable knocking on the door of my Best Friend's office.

"Lady Lesso!" Clarissa cries running towards me.

She pulls me into a hug and my heart takes a leap. I quickly extinguish the unfamiliar feeling by pulling out of the hug.

"How have you been? I hope everything is okay in the School of Evil, I have been just so busy with the chaos around here. So sorry I couldn't help..." Clarissa said.

"Clarissa, we were both busy, there was more trouble in your school then mine, I should've came over and helped." I say. "In the end, we got it figured out."

Clarissa's shoulders lowered in relief knowing that I wasn't upset at her.

"Lady Lesso, I don't know why I allowed Creature Sidekicks." Clarissa says. "It has caused so much trouble."

I get a good look at Clarissa, there were bags under her tired blue eyes, her hair was loose and she was wearing a plain white gown instead of her usual pastel colors. Even though I do think that creature are annoying and a pain, I don't want to make Clarissa feel worse about her decisions.

"The students have grew to control their creature in three days. This surely shows their abilities to bond with animals." I say finding the small area of success within all the annoyance.

Clarissa smiles.

"They did do good didn't they?" she said.

I nod also smiling. It was one of the things that Clarissa taught me to do. To find the positivity in the negativity. It is an unfamiliar act for villains, after all, what all villains think about is darkness.

I left Clarissa's Office, leaving her to her work. I walked into my classroom to see all the students sitting at their desks, with their creatures next to them. They did do good. I think remembering Clarissa's words. The room was clam except for Sophie's Cupid, Grimm who spent the entire lesson grinding his teeth and clawing at the walls. I try to ignore him, but it's nearing the end of class and I just can't help myself.

"You know, by looking at him, you'd think..." I start, looking at the cupid, curiously.

I can't quite put my finger on what I was thinking of. I knew it was something terrible, I but I pushed the thought away.

"Never mind. Just give him a little milk and he'll be more amenable." I say instead.

The thought of Sophie's Cupid stayed in my head throughout the day. 'What was it?' 'That Cupid was acting like that for a reason!' I think to myself, frustrated that I couldn't figure it out.

The next day, the Cupid had calmed down. The milk had worked. I felt a sense of relief rush over me. I still couldn't pin point what the Cupid's actions reminded me of, but I new it was something bad.

On the 6th day, Sophie came rushing up to me after class.

"Grimm keeps going after my friends! What do I do?" She cried.

I sigh, "Some henchmen go rogue. It's a hazard of villainy. But usually it's because..."

I pause. I know what it is. When henchmen go rogue, why the cupid went rogue. It couldn't be. How could it? There were no dreams, or symptoms.

"Because of what?" Sophie asks, bringing me back to reality.

I hesitate on telling her. There's no real evidence yet. I don't know for sure.

"Oh, I'm sure he'll calm down. They always do." I reply instead of telling the truth.

After my conversation with Sophie I rush across the Halfway Bridge to Clarissa's office. I take wide strides, in a rush to see Clarissa. My hands push the doors open and I immediately sit on a chair.

"Lesso, What in..." Clarissa starts to say.

"Sophie. It's their story." I say, gasping for air.

"The Storian? I though we already established that?" Clarissa says confused.

I shake my head.

"Yes, However, I think that Sophie is having Nemesis Dreams or is going to." I explain. I grab a sour plum from Clarissa's desk and take a large bite out of it. Clarissa just stares numbly, contemplating everything she's thinking about.

"How would you know. No villain would tell anybody about their Nemesis Dreams." Clarissa points out.

The thing was, Clarissa was right. No one would talk to a teacher about their Dreams, but the Cupid knew. That's why the more the Cupid stayed with Sophie, the more it knew her soul. That's what I told Clarissa. By the end of my story, Clarissa was looking concerned.

"How do we keep everyone safe?" She asks.
