I need some advice and opinions

Ok so real talk I got into a bit of an argument about this one video on youtube and someone said something in response to what I said and I'd like some opinions and stuff. The video was talking about a bunch of things but the main thing I commented about was the fact that it's very hard for homeless people to get jobs in order to not be homeless anymore because of Societies view on the homeless. I commented about how society has a very big impact on how homeless people are viewed and received in ANY setting but mostly in the ways of getting jobs. The fact is most companies care more about their looks and image compared to human livelihood. A job I worked at actually refused to hire a homeless man because of his looks and the fact he was homeless, but they had hired a man who used his mental disability to sexually harass women in the store. They didn't fire him because that would "be bad and hurt our image cause he's mentally disabled and we are all about equal opportunity" but they wouldn't hire a homeless man who was willing to work as long as they would allow so he could try and save up money to get a place to live or to get food to eat. This person argued that me "blaming" society made me seem like a joker. They said the government should have a role in it and improving everything and blah blah but! Guess what?! So many people say that homelessness is an issue and homeless people deserve to work too but no one lifts aa finger to help! They say stuff but they don't do anything past that to help. No wealthy company is going to just lose all their business and hurt their precious reputation over hiring people that in their eyes and societies eyes is "scum". That's all I have to say, let me know what your thoughts are. If you agree society has a part in how homelessness is viewed around the world let me know.
