Chapter Seventeen: For a Friend

3rd Person PoV:

Goku awoke minutes after Bulma's departure. He sat up abruptly, only to headbutt John.

"Owww!" John exclaimed, holding his forehead.

"Gah! I'm sorry John!" Goku said, clapping his hands together and getting in a begging pose.

Goku immediately got up, remembering what happened in his and Bulma's conversation. 

"JOHN! We gotta help Bulma!" Goku said, desperation dripping from his eyes.

"Huh? What?" John said, confused.

"Please, John! She's in danger! Please tell me you copied her ability or something!" Goku said, latching his hands onto John's shoulders.

"What happened when you guys talked? Did she say anything?" John asked curiously.

Goku explains what happened in the conversation with John.

"When I asked her if she was going back to the facility or not, her eyes changed. They went from happy and sweet to pain and sorrow. She even began to tear up." Goku said.

"How is that any evidence? She could've just been sad to have to leave you again." John said flatly.

"I have a hunch that something isn't right. Please, John, you've gotta help me!" Goku proclaimed, eyes filled with worry as well as desperation.

John pondered over this. Goku did help him explain his ability with Sera. But how can he just barge into a facility where they capture high tiers without any proof that the bluenette is in danger. There was also Seraphina, he couldn't just leave her here alone especially with what happened.

"Goku, I'm sorry, but I can't help you out. I need to stay here and protect Sera in case anything happens to her." John explains, a little saddened.

Goku clenched his fists, hard. He gritted his teeth and was about to just yell until he thought of something. 

Elaine.

John can leave Sera in Elaine's care since they are roommates. Sera is also supposed to be back tomorrow anyway, so it wouldn't arouse suspicion so long as they weren't spotted carrying around an unconscious girl.

"We can leave her at Elaine's place!" Goku cheered. John was confused. Goku then explained his plan to him.

"Actually, we don't even have to walk there. Some of Bulma's aura is still here, but it's very faint. Give me some time to focus, alright?" John told Goku. Goku calmed down a little.

John sat there in silence, eyes closed. If you didn't know the current situation, it'd look like he was meditating.

After a few minutes, he opened his eyes to reveal his ability active. 

"Got it."

Time Skip

After dropping off Seraphina at Elaine's, who was shocked and a little scared. She ultimately calmed down and they left Sera in her bed.

They were outside the girl's dorms and contemplated their next move.

"John, do you think that you can maybe sense her aura from here so we would know where she is?" Goku curiously asked.

"No, I can't sense anything like her aura anywhere," John said before thinking of something. More like someone.

I can't sense. I cant sen- I sense.

Isen.
