Present
"What does meeting him on a bus have to do with anything? Were you just really good friends or..?" Alise asks, not connecting anything as of yet. Jenny sighs.
"That was where we met. The bus started it all. We didn't see each other for two years after that. In those two years, I kickstarted my modelling career, and his band was just getting popular. We never kept in touch," Jenny explains. Alise furrows her brow, taking in her mother's words.
"So basically," she began, trying to sort out her thoughts, "Basically, you were already acquaintances, you just became really good friends later on..?"
Jenny nods slowly, watching as Alise begins to put everything together.
"How did you guys get reunited?" Alise asks, still wrapping her head around the whole situation. Jenny's face forms a dreamy expression as she begins to recall her second encounter with the fiery man.
"After a long day of walking down catwalks in tall heels and crazy outfits, I went to a club with some of my friends. He was in a booth with some of the guys in the band and a few ladies. I didn't really pay him all that much attention, but he spotted me instantly and walked over. We chatted for much of the night." Jenny smiles softly at the memory, recalling Axl's booming laughter and deep voice, as well as his intense gaze and his tongue licking his lips in anticipation.
Alise raises an eyebrow at her mother's obvious daydreaming. What was she remembering?
When she realises her mother's daydreaming had no end in sight, Alise clears her throat. This doesn't work. Jenny continues to imagine Axl with a soft smile on her lips. Alise sighs.
"Mom. What else?" Alise asks, finally breaking her mother's train of thoughts. Jenny's eyes widen before she regains herself and clears her throat with a sheepish smile.
"Sorry, chica. Where was I?" Jenny asks, her cheeks tinging a slight pink colour. Alise rolls her eyes with a smile.
"I swear, mom. You daydream more than a fan girl reading a smutty fanfic with a reader insert." Jenny furrows her brows in confusion.
"A what?" She asks, tucking her legs beneath her to sit more comfortably. Alise coughs a little, realising she's just outed herself.
"Never mind, mom. Continue with the story."
Jenny raises her eyebrows incredulously but says nothing about her daughter's phrase, instead opting to continue the story.
"We formed a relationship about a week later..."
