Jenny couldn't believe what she'd done. She knew it was wrong, so so wrong. The man was married, for Christ's sake! But nothing had ever felt so right. To Jenny, that intimate moment had been everything.
That intimate moment proved exactly what she'd hoped to disprove. It had opened her eyes to the truth she'd fought to bury for such a long time.
She still loved Axl.
It seemed that no matter what or who she did, Axl was always the one she wished she was doing it with. He was at the forefront of her mind at all times.
And yet that sincere and primal night had its consequence, which Jenny would forever be indebted to bear.
Jenny knew sleeping with a married man would have its consequences, but she didn't expect this. She didn't expect to be carrying the child of this man.
And yet, to Jenny, this consequence was secretly a blessing in disguise. Axl's child was exactly that. Axl's. In this way, she could always have a piece of Axl, even if she couldn't have Axl himself. She knew it was selfish, but she couldn't find it within herself to care. She now had her own little piece of Axl all to herself.
Jenny briefly toyed with the idea of telling Axl. He needed to know, it was only right. But Jenny knew it would create quite a scandal, and it would bring about the demise to his recently souring marriage.
Jenny hung up the landline. She couldn't do that to him. She couldn't ruin his life with this.
But Axl needed to know. Axl deserved to know. But Jenny couldn't bring herself to tell him. It would ruin his life, potentially his reputation.
