I am a hunter. A creature hunter to be more exact. Vampires, werewolves, hybrids, monsters! I'm different from the ones you've seen. I didn't chose to be this, I wasn't made by witches, I was born.

Born with the instinct and drive to kill. I was born with supernatural strength and speed (faster than a vampire). I was born with the knowledge of every weakness a vampire has, pressure points that even they don't know about. All my senses are magnified. No creature can defeat me!

Sam is my name and I just moved back to Mystic Falls. I have lived here before and decided it was a time to revisit my past. Everything still looks the same, it even feels the same....

There are vampires here.

I walked into The Grill and smelled the sweet scent of hamburgers and whiskey. There was a pool table in the corner to my right and tables scattered all around. It's a typical family place.

Then it hit me, the scent if a vampire. Usually it's a repulsive smell like blood and fish. But this time it's blood and cheap colonel. It invaded my nose and made the back of my throat burn. I started my way through, looking around. That's when I see him.....him. I watched as he walked up to the bar and ordered a drink. I follow him over to the bar.

"A water" I said to the bar tender. He nodded, turned around and started pouring a clear liquid into a crystal glass.

The guy next to me chuckles as he stares at me for a few moments.

"Nice choice" he said sarcastically.

"Thanks" I replied in the same tone. Thats when I really get to look at him.

He had black messy hair that framed his face. He was tall and dressed in all black. His ice- blue eyes were mesmerizing, I felt like he could see right through me. The way he was slouching over his drink told me he was upset but his voice told be that he wanted to be strong. He was easy to read.

"I was hoping you were going to be different" he said disappointed as he downed his drink.

"We'll I don't like to live up to expectations" I said firmly.

"We'll I guess you succeeded" he said dryly

I paused for a moment.

"I think your just disappointed in the fact that I'm not getting drunk" I said staring at the back of the bar.

"And why would that disappoint me?" He asked in an intrigued voice. He scooted a little in his seat to get closer to me.

I had to hold my breath while I talked so I could keep calm....

"Well if I had ordered a couple shots, then soon I would be tipsy, you would then see a opening. We would flirt, and you would invite me to your house. We then would have meaningless sex. I would go home and never hear from you again." I said in one breath. "Does that sound about right?"

He looked at me as if I just grew a second head. I couldn't stop myself from chuckling.

"You got all that from 3 sentences!" He said creeped out

"Yep." I said confidently "You're not that hard to figure out.

He smirked to himself and then turned to me.

"Damon" he said.

"Sam" I replied

As I was just about to shake his hand, i let go of my breath and I got a whiff of his smell. I couldn't breath. His scent made me angry. All I could think about was how I could rip out his heart and where to hide the body. I was unable to think. I had to get of there.

"I'm sorry" I said trying to sound normal "I have to go"

The vampire, I mean Damon watched as I got up and walked quickly out the door.

He said something behind me that I couldn't understand at the time. I swung the door open and fled.
