4- You'll End Up Like The Crazy Cat Woman From The Simpsons.
"What?"
"Nothing" she shrugged.
"Seriously, stop looking at me like that" I pouted.
"Like what?" she answered me bluntly. I threw my head back in annoyance. "Seriously Sarah, I'll poke you in the eye with my fork if you don't stop," I threatened. "What is it?"
Sarah and I were currently sitting in a booth at the diner with a plate of fries on the table. It was saturday and I was bored out of my mind, so I called her. She has been looking at me suspiciously ever since she got here, and it was annoying the crap out of me.
"You tell me. You've been spending an aweful amount of time with Carter lately. Is there something going on between you too?" She raised her eyebrow. I shook my head.
Stay calm, Prue.
"No, I swear. We're just friends. He's kind of cool" I said. She narrowed her eyes at me but let it go. "Okay fine. But you would tell me if anything happened between the two of you, right?"
"Of course I would" I smiled. I hate lying to her. "Good" she grinned and continued eating our fries. I sat there looking out the window. I zoned out, thinking about what could happen if they ever found out about me and Carter. I shook myself out of my bubble and started gossiping with Sarah about some girl at school.
"So she let it go?" Carter asked from the bed. I was on the floor, both actually doing homework and not something completely different. I nodded my head at him.
"She doesn't know anything, luckily" I sighed. We were talking about what happened atthe diner. He told me that Mark had asked hin about it too, but he convinced him. "Good. We don't want anyone to think the most popular boy at school is dating the most lame one" he joked. I threw a cushion at him.
"They won't ever think of something so stupid, I would never sink that low" I tried to hide the smirk that was forming on my face.
"You'll end up like the crazy cat woman from The Simpsons" he laughed. I pouted. He stood up and bent don to peck my pout.
"I'm kidding. But hey, look at positively, at least you're getting some." I slapped him across the head. The door opened and Carter's mom smiled us. "How's it going with the homework?" she asked.
"Almost done" he grinned to his mom. "So I was just wondering, your dad and I wanted to go out tonight. Could you babysit Lucy for us?" she pleaded. Carter groaned loudly.
"But I was going to a party tonight, can't you hire a babysitter?"
Mrs Adams scoffed. "You don't do anything around here, you're going to watch your sister and that's final" She said firmly.
