Chapter 5- Sassy Little Girl

Waking up next to Carter is something I'll never get used to. He's always so warm, his face looks adorable when he sleeps and it's basically just heaven.

But today it was just plain aweful.

I opened my eyes to fins Lucy standing by the bed with her Elsa dress on, staring at us wide-eyed. I slapped Carters chest as hard as I could, and he jolted awake. He glared at me and then turned around and saw Lucy. His scream when he saw her was even more girly than mine.

"Lucy, what the he-eck are you doing here!?" He almost swore at his sister, but corrected himself. Real smooth, Carter

"Are you two boyfriend and girlfriend?" she cocked her head to the side. My eyes widened and I shook my head.

"No, no, Lucy! Nothing like that, we're just friends. You have guy friends in kindergarten, don't you?" How the hell do you explain something like this to a four year-old?

"You know what Lucy? Just get out," Carter said, obviously embarrased. "Go play with your dolls"

Lucy crossed her arms and pouted before stomping out the room. I almost giggled at her, she looked so cute. Sassy little girl.

Carter let out a sigh of relief and buried his face into his pillow. "My head hurts" he groaned. I chuckled at him.

"I don't feel bad for you at all, it's your own fault" I shrugged. He turned his head so that he was looking right at me. "What happened last night?"

I stopped for a second. What do I tell him?

I shrugged. "You didn't tell me, you were too drunk." I know lying is bad, but I couldn't tell him. It's best if he doesn't know, even if it isn't such a big thing.

"I should get going before your parents get home. See you later dude." I waved my hand at him from behind as I walked towards the door.

I knew my mother wasn't awake just yet, it was only seven thirty, but I still tip toed as quietly as I could through the house. She is a heavy sleeper, so waking her up by being too loud is impossible. When I was about seven years old I woke up early in the morning on a saturday to make mom and dad some breakfast. I made a mess in the kitchen, I lost pots and pans on the floor, the pantries and counters were covered in flour and eggs, and I also managed to set off the fire alarm. Dad was the only one who woke up, mom just acknowledged the beeping and went back to sleep.

I opened the door to my room, threw off the clothes I put on in a hurry at Carters and jumped into bed, falling asleep instantly.

I was sitting at the diner with Sarah, Em and Mike talking about my birthday party. I really didn't want a big one, I just wanted a nice and calm evening with my friends.
