*another long one . . . over 16,000 words. um sorry*

BELLE ADAIR THOUGHT she was done with the Gods. After defending Olympus from a Titan and his army, sailing on a warship to Greece, quite literally going through hell and back (she survived Tartarus, it's whatever), and defeating Gaea, she had just about had it with the Olympians.

The Fates decided they had other ideas.

She sat on the couch of the Jackson apartment in New York City, a copy of City of Bones in her hand. Percy Jackson, her boyfriend, laid his head in her lap and stared up at her adoringly as the girl absentmindedly ran her fingers through his hair. Paul Blofis, Percy's step-father, was out at work but a very pregnant Sally Jackson, Percy's mom, was in the kitchen making some smoothies.

Suddenly, the buzzer to the apartment rang. Sally sighed and stopped the blender, walking over to it by the front door. Belle glanced up from her book for a second.

"Yes?" Sally asked.

"Hello," a voice greeted. "This is Apollo."

The room went silent. Percy slowly raised himself up off of Belle's lap and exchanged a confused glance with his girlfriend. Apollo? It certainly didn't sound like Apollo, and it didn't make sense how he was just using the buzzer system to try and contact them.

"The God Apollo," he specified. "Is Percy home?"

"Don't let him in!" Percy protested.

Sally looked over at him. "Percy, he could be in trouble."

Belle closed her book and placed it down on the table. "Sally, when Gods show up out of nowhere, it's because they want something from us. Don't you think we've been used enough?"

"Tell him I've left the country," Percy suggested, making Belle point at him in agreement.

Sally gave them a stern look. "No, you two. I'm letting him up."

Before either of them could say anything otherwise, Sally pressed the button to allow the front door to the apartment complex open. Percy groaned and leaned his head back against the couch. Belle exhaled and leaned her head back as well.
