During one of the few moments the feeling in his veins was subdued, Reese glanced up.

Oh god please no....

"Have fun sunshine."

And then she locked the door.

-------------

"Reese what did they do I-"

Scythe said something else and Zack was still shaking and looking around the room, they probably drugged him because of his crying. They don't like crying...

Yet Reese couldn't process any of his surroundings as a new wave of pain ripped through him. He was clawing at the floor so hard his fingers became raw and bloody. Scratching at the veins beneath his skin so hard he drew blood. Slamming his head against the concrete floor and screaming until it passed.

Once it did, Reese was nothing but a twitching figure balled up against a wall. Zack was on the opposite end of the room, clutching his hands over his ears. Scythe tried to comfort him and covered his trembling hands with his own, desperately blocking out the sound of misery. Scythe's features flinching at the sound of skull on concrete. After trying and failing a few times, Reese was able to lift his head without a searing pain passing through it. He spotted them both and coughed a few times. Clearing his throat and dropping his head before speaking, although it did nothing to mask the exhaustion and gruffness.

"Hey Scythe." He paused to lift his head once more. "I'm gonna need you to chain me back up."

Scythe jumped slightly, not realizing it was over until just then. He turned towards the sound of Reese's words. Voice surprisingly loud and calming for the amount of strain it went through.

"Y-you want me to what?"

Reese groaned and sat up. Arms giving out a few times as his veins burned more intensely. Sighing he lent against the wall and breathed deep.

"I don't want it. I need you to chain me back up. It's gonna suck but," He contemplated telling them the truth for a moment. "It's better than you ending up dead..."

Scythe hesitantly stood up and stepped away from Zack. Not before covering his shaking figure with his larger jacket.

"Why would I end up." A wave of nervousness flared up within his gut. "Ya know, dead."

The older of the two sighed and relaxed as the intense stinging in his arms dulled for a moment. "Because, Scy, this is not my first rodeo with these particular crazy scientists. They will only give me the fuckin' antidote on two conditions. One, I end up nearly ripping my own limbs off. Two, I kill you. Or, they're having a bad day and will make me wait until it leaves my system."

They both sat in a tense silence after that. Reese too focused on trying not to lash out to notice the boy trying to contemplate his options. He either dies at the hands of an Irishman, who is basically his father, in a blood stained lab, or he listens to what he says and maybe makes it out alive.

It wasn't a particularly hard choice to make.

"I'll do it."

Grunting and heaving himself off of the ground, Reese grabbed some extra chains and tossed them to the Scythe. "Good, I'm not gonna be this pliant the whole time though. Keep an eye out and watch Zack. I know this is affecting you as well, but we need someone with a cool head here. Okay, Scy?" Reese looked him in the eye, mustering up the best smile he could to reassure him.

"Okay, yeah, I can do that."

So he got to work. Scythe worked surprisingly quickly and efficiently for how stressful the situation was. Immediately backing away and stumbling over to Zack, protecting him from the sight of Reese thrashing violently against the chains. Soon having to cover his ears as well when the screams started again...
