The whole walk home consisted of the gang asking me questions about Tess.
"So where did she say she was from?" Steve asks
"I asked her but she never got to give me an answer. She's definatley not anywhere around here that's for sure."
"So are you gonna meet her tomorrow?" Two- bit asks
"She never told me where to meet her. She probably was just acting nice, she probably wants nothing to do with me after I froze up in front of the socs."
Sodapop laughs and says "Pony what she means is that she wants you to go find her, she knows your interested. You just have to play it cool and act like its no big deal, maybe ask her out."
"What do you think dally?" I look at dally, the leader of our group he always has some advice to give out. He's the tough one, straight out of New York. He's thinking.
"She looks familiar... Really familiar. Find out what her last name is for me pony and where she's from, okay? Anyway I'll see you later."
That night lying in bed, I stared at the ceiling just thinking about her. I haven't had a close friend ever since Johnny died. Sodapop leaned over and knew right away what I was thinking about.
"Don't worry ponyboy, she's into you I can tell." Soda has always been good with girls since they all fall for his movie star looks, but me I can't say I have the same traits.
Tess's POV
Lying in bed I'm still thinking about ponyboy. He's nice, but I don't want him to find out about my past, I just want to start off fresh. Hopefully I'll run into him tomorrow he's got that look of a boy who is shy and nice, but still resembles a tough guy. His friends were real nice too, I could tell they all look out for each other, which makes me think of Dylan.
For the first night in years I get a good nights sleep.
