Lunch time at Charlotte's Pizza Diner usually meant peak hours for customers.

This was something Becky always frowned upon because of all the stress and pressure in the atmosphere from hundreds of simultaneous orders in every direction. But now, she sat by the counter happily chatting to Charlotte about Seth's disastrous attempts at housework so far.

"You're blooming." She comments after some time of interval from all of Becky's talking. She was refilling the thermal paper for printing receipts at the cash register.

Becky was taken aback by the unexpected remark. She starts reflecting about the definition of 'blooming' and whether her present self identifies with it.

"Rightly so," Charlotte continues. "After all, it has been a week and everything has been going smoothly so far, yeah?"

"Don't jinx it, then!" She snorts and glances at Seth who was working as a waiter not far away from where both of them were right now.

He was currently in a frenzy, rushing to deliver a glass of soda to a table. He did it successfully but as he turns around, he slips on a trail of some spilled contents of the drink because of his earlier hysterical state.

"Oof, " he says, making a sound as he lands flat on his bum.

Becky giggles while staring, amused at how she was able to witness such an entertaining adversity. She turns her head back to Charlotte who was giving her a knowing look.

"What?"

Charlotte's eyebrows raise in defence. "Nothing! It's just..." She smirks. "You do realise you've been staring at him quite a lot the entire time he's been working."

Becky scoffs, "I— h-he..." She stammers, "I just like seeing him suffer! Seeing how much of a disaster he is and—"

She laughs and says, "I'm just teasing, Bex." Charlotte pads to the kitchen as she then rolls her eyes.

Becky followed to the kitchen and was greeted by the clock in the middle of the room, getting reminded of the time.

Half past 1pm.

By now, she's memorised her work schedule so naturally, she knows she's late for her next shift when she sees the clock like that. Only this time, it's Seth who's currently running late at the moment. Speak of the devil, Seth walks in and rests on an empty chair nearby, exhausted and sighing deeply.

"Not to alarm you, love, but shouldn't you be on your way to the construction site right now?" Becky says gently. Her round eyes stare at Seth and her lips were folded.

Seth eyes widen as the realisation kicks in. " Crap ." He curses, bolting up. "You're right!"

Becky grins smugly, "As usual."

"Whatever." Seth retorts.

Becky rolls her eyes, still smiling. "Oh, and—don't forget, today is groceries day."

"Already have the list, don't worry."

Not long after, Seth was dressed again to leave for his afternoon shift with Kevin.

"I'll be off now." He announces to Becky—and by extension Charlotte, in the small kitchen.

"Alright, you be careful out there." Becky says in the middle of carefully laying a bunch of toppings on a pizza, making sure they were equally distributed.

Charlotte waves, smiling politely. "Bye, Seth."

"I will Bex, bye Charlotte." He turns and leaves through the back door.
