The nurse at the reception was weirdly relieved when Becky told her she was there to "collect her man". She presumed the hospital was already full of Seth's shit in just a few hours of having him there, he really is a handful. And now, Becky was going to liberate the hospital of the nightmare called Seth, and let herself be the one to have the burden of having that lil' shit's presence. Illegally as well. She was holding illegal, falsified documents.
Becky was sitting by the waiting area, as instructed earlier. And because she was waiting for time to pass by, doubts and hesitancy are strongly clouding her reasoning. It was overriding her drive for revenge as the rational realisation of the weight of the mess was starting to settle in her mind. Before she knew it, she was panicking.
Becky stood up and quickly went out of the building to breathe some fresh air. She was thinking of dialing Charlotte to tell her how insane this plan was, or maybe just ask her to accompany her right now for moral support because she sure as hell has no idea anymore.
She regrets impulsively getting carried away with her emotions earlier that ended up in this breaking point where she's stuck indecisively debating over the what if's and but's in this situation.
The ' dialing' above Charlotte's name displays on her phone's screen as Becky continues to pace back and forth by the entrance of the hospital door, when a familiar voice she hasn't heard in a while—and for a specific reason— calls out her name. She then cancels the phone call.
"Becky!"
She slowly turns her head to see a familiar face to match the voice. The man was wearing a plain orange shirt to compliment his tousled hair and had a 5 o' clock shadow. Despite his loud call earlier, he had a look of hesitancy when Becky turned to face him.
"Sami, hi." Becky replied unsurely, like she doesn't believe this person was actually right in front of her.
"Hey, so um... How've you been?" Sami rubs the back of his neck.
"Fine...?" Becky felt weird yet strangely comforted about this interaction. She thinks this could be a trap to once again lure her back to thinking Sami actually cared for her, so she was cautious. Although, since she was in the middle of panicking, she really appreciated someone's presence to ground her at the moment so she was willing to cling on to it for now.
"How 'bout you?" Becky finally says.
"I'm great, yeah." Sami replies.
The silence in the atmosphere meant it was about to start getting awkward so Becky took it in her to keep it from getting there. "So, what are you doing here?"
"Actually, I—" Before Sami could continue, he was interrupted by another voice calling him.
It was a girl with brown hair. She was waving at Sami from the inside of the hospital. It took Becky a moment to realise.
"Is she your...?" She suddenly felt overly conscious and started backing up to widen the space between them.
"Yeah, I just..." Sami sighs. "I just wanted to check on you. We didn't really leave on good terms."
"I wasn't the one who left." Becky had a deadpan expression and looked straight into Sami's eyes, she gave a sardonic smile before walking away.
As much as she was curious to see Sami's reaction, she refused to give him a second glance. Becky felt tears filling her eyes as she strode to the restroom. She felt pathetic. She stared at her reflection as she leaned on the sink.
Becky huffed and splashed water on her face as a way to tell herself to get her shit together. She took the envelope with all the needed files for her visit and went out of the bathroom, now filled with newly found conviction.
