I gazed out the plane window, my earbuds loosly tucked in my ears as I listened to relaxing music. The view wasn't anything special but it was still nice for a change of scenery. After living in a desert for so many years, I was happy to see the tall snow covered mountains shining below and trees as far as the eye could see.

It had been over 16 years since I had last been to the small town of Forks, Washington and even then I was only an infant. I wondered, what would this place bring me? I hoped that there would be at least a few decent people to befriend. I didn't have any real friends in my last town, hopefully it would be different here. Who knows, maybe even a boyfriend? I doubted that though. I have never really been interested in anyone.

My thoughts were cut short when Bella nudged me in the side with her elbow.

I turned away from the plane window and remove my earbuds. I looked at her with a questioning expression. "What's wrong?"

"They said we're landing soon." She explained to me. I gave her a grateful nod. "Thanks for telling me." I replied with a smile.

She returned the gesture and focused back on the book in her hands. I followed suit and went back to looking out the window, my music flowing in my ears once more.

A few minutes later, we were getting off the plane and walking around the airport, trying to spot our parent/godfather in the crowd of people.

I dragged my bags along behind me as was Bella who was walking closely beside me. "I bet you anything he's in his police uniform." I told her.

She laughed slightly as I looked at her with a smile. "Well I bet you anything he came in the cruiser." I laughed with her before focusing back in front of me. "Probably both."

She taped my shoulder and pointed in front of her. "There he is." I followed her finger and sure enough, there he stands in his police uniform, Charlie Swan.

We walked to him, Bella now in front, and soon we are standing beside him. I smile at him before giving him a hug. "Hello Charlie." I greeted him.

He hugged me back and chuckled. "Good to see you again Stella." We released from our embrace and he turned to Bella who stood awkwardly in front of her father. "Hey Cha-Dad."

He smiled at her and replied. "Hey Bella."

After an excruciatingly awkward car ride and terrible attempts at small talk, we arrived in the very small town of Forks.

I sat in the backseat of the car as Bella and Charlie were in the front. We passed a sign saying "The City Of Forks Welcomes You - Pop. 3246." I heard Bella sigh from her seat. I reached out and touched her shoulder in a comforting manner. She turned to me and gave me a half smile, which I a return with a brighter one. "Thanks." She whispered. I nodded my head and retracted my hand.

As the cruiser drives through, I took in the logging town, every storefront had a wood carving. The Timber Museum's sign was two loggers sawing a stump. The POLICE STATION was a small wooden building across from City Hall. Wow, this place is kinda gloomy, so much for being optimistic.

We soon arrived at a two story house that had a woodshed on the side and a small boat in the garage. This must be Charlie's house. Or should I say my new home. I got out of the car and took in my surroundings. At least I'm closer to nature now.

I retrieved my bags from the trunk, Bella getting help from Charlie with hers after I had insisted on carrying my own. He unlocked the door and went into the house, Bella behind him and me bringing up the rear.
