It had been a while since Stevie woke up with someone next to her, let alone Lindsey. With her head on his chest, arm draped around his middle, she looked up at him, watching him sleep, seemingly so peaceful. She silently replayed the conversation they had the night before, wondering if they were simply kidding themselves. There was nothing more that Stevie wished than to be with the only man, who had truly loved her through everything, her flaws and all.

"I'm not sleeping." Lindsey spoke up, with his eyes still closed.

"I know. Your breathing changed about ten minutes ago." Stevie shrugged, cuddling up closer to him. "Good morning."

"Good morning." He echoed, kissing her hair. "Did you sleep well?"

"I haven't slept as well in months."

And they did just sleep in the same bed together. Nothing happened. Neither of them had expected for something to happen. It wasn't about physical intimacy. It had always been the easy choice in every situation for the two of them, but not this time. First of all, they had to resolve their issues, sex couldn't get in the way of that.

"Can we just lie in bed for the rest of the day?"

Stevie laughed, sitting up to stretch. "You don't exactly have to go to an office job anyway."

"Do you have any plans?"

"I was thinking about sorting my music room today. Also, Alice is coming over later." Swinging her legs over the edge of the bed, Stevie stood up and put on her robe.

"Is she going to be okay with me being here?" Lindsey asked, somewhat carefully. He wasn't sure if he wanted to know the answer.

"Absolutely. She said so herself." Stevie shrugged. "Alice is fine with Don's new girlfriend, so..."

"Oh, he's seeing someone?"

Sighing, she nodded. "I guess. I didn't really ask. He's free to do whatever he wants as long as the woman in his life treats my daughter right."

Lindsey wholeheartedly agreed. "Could you help me up?"

Stevie walked around to the other side of the bed and gave Lindsey his crutches. Making sure he had a good grip on them, she stepped aside and let him walk out the room, following him a step behind.

"What would you like for breakfast?" Stevie asked, yawning.

"I don't really have a preference." Lindsey shrugged.

"Of course. I forgot, you'll eat anything." She teased, kissing him on the cheek as she pulled out a chair for him. "Coffee?"

"Yes, please." Lindsey nodded. "You know, when I'm able to walk normally again, I'm making you dinner as a thank you. And desert."

Stevie looked over her shoulder, putting two mugs down on the kitchen counter. "The last time you tried cooking for me-"

"Oh my God..." Lindsey sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. "That was a thousand years ago, Stevie!" She chuckled, taking out the sugar. "I have learned a few things, you know."

"Okay, okay. I'm sorry." She apologized. "I trust that you wouldn't intentionally give me food poisoning." Seeing him open his mouth to defend himself again, Stevie interrupted him from doing so. "I'm really done, I'm sorry."

"I don't think you deserve desert now." Lindsey pouted childishly.

Walking over to him, Stevie hugged him from behind, saying with her mouth close to his ear. "Why don't you leave desert up to me?" And walked away with that. "Scrambled eggs okay for you?"
