Jace's pov
I can't believe Ashley said yes! I've never said anything to anyone, but I've kinda had a crush on her since I moved here. She fascinates me. She doesn't think she's special, but she's the most beautiful and talented and special girl I've ever met. I never had the guts to ask her out before because I thought she only thinks of me as a friend, but she said yes! Jamie thought she would. She's been trying to get us together for the past year. So when Saturday finally came, I picked my outfit carefully. I wanted to look great and impress Ashley. Does she even think this was a date? Should I just tell her how I feel? Of should I wait for her to make the first move? I wore a light blue button up shirt and dark jeans. I fixed my hair and went to her house.Ashley's pov
"What am I supposed to wear?!" I had a minor freak out with my mother in my room. She was also like my best friend. "Wear whatever you feel comfortable in." She started roaming through my drawers and closet. Eventually I picked out a black sleeveless shirt with red flowers and black pants. With a leather jacket to add the tough chick effect. I braided my hair off to the side then I heard the doorbell. "Oh my god it's him!" I nearly shouted to my mother. "It's okay! Just play it cool and be yourself!" "But I still don't know if it's a date!" I tried I calm myself. "Well just see how the night goes and let him decide." I opened the door and Jace stood there. "Whoa." Was all he could manage. "Whoa yourself! I thought we were going to the fair?" I replied. His brain finally activated and he said. "We are. After you ma' lady!" He bowed and I stepped into the cool night air. We walked to the fair and went on rides and played games. Then Jace snuck up behind me and wrapped a giant panda around me and said. "Your panda as promised ma'lady." I hugged the bear and we walked home. We stopped on my step and I said. "Do you want to come in? We have food!" I asked. "No I gotta get home." He smiled at me. "I had fun tonight Jace." I said. "I did too. Do you maybe want to go out again sometime? Like on a date?" He asked. "Wasn't this a date?" I asked. "I don't know was it?" He asked. "I think it was." I said. "Then it was a date! The truth is Ashley, I really like you. Like, a lot." He said looking down. I took his hand and he looked at me. "Jace, I really like you too. Like, a lot." He started to lean in and so did I. I thought we would kiss but then my door opened and my mom looked at us and said. "So did everyone have fun?" She's so clueless sometimes. "Yeah mom, I had a great time! Thank you Jace." I kissed him on the cheek and went inside and plopped on my bed. Best. Night. (And almost first kiss) Ever. I knew that I would never forget that night. Or the giant panda sitting and staring at me.Jace's pov
I knew that Ashley would look good, but I never thought that she would look that hot! I got to the door and forgot everything I wanted to say. All I said was "whoa" she probably thought I was brain dead. The night was amazing. We laughed and had a good time and I won her a panda as promised. I can't believe I actually told her how I feel about her. But she said she liked me back! Score! We almost kissed, but her mother budded in and we never got to it. It's okay though. I get the feeling we will have plenty more opportunities for that.
