ED: (10/20/2021) This was an extra chapter supposed to be uploaded when I had finished the main storyline. As you can probably tell, I never did end up finishing the story and the only thing I really had was a vague outline for the rest of the chapters, so it's not as if there are any more chapters I can upload from here on out. That being said, for anyone reading this because they're starved of content and drooling over their laptop looking for a new (technically old) story, I guess this may be interesting to you to see what was going through my head as I was writing it.

It should be noted that I had meant for the story to finish not even a few days after I had originally taken it down, so a lot of the notes may be.. out of date when it comes to real life people's boundaries. Anyway, that shouldn't matter too much anyway to those of you reading for.. whatever you want, I guess. Fun, masturbation (sorry to the 11 year olds that had to see that horrible word, really) material, daydreaming and hoping that you'll eventually have a social life more outside of your pathetic little bubble.. you know, normal things.

so since theres a shit tonna stuff happening in the bg of this story (cuz thats how life works, kids, theres a ton of other things going on in others lives that you dont know abt) im gonna go over some of them and maybe clear up some misconceptions / plotholes and expand on the universe of the story cuz thats cool n shit

i may write some oneshots on these scenarios, but dont get ur hopes up lol

wilburs boyfriends:

george / sapnaps tournament:
> this thing. i got a comment on this, asking if they won or not. they did, not that it was really important to the plot. i figured that i wouldnt really bring it up anymore because what kinda friends just gloat to each other abt an event that they were there to witness? (not to invalidate the people who do, i just personally find it arbitrary and my friends never do it so :p)

everyones extracurriculars:
oh boy this is gonna be a shitstorm (these are all people directly mentioned in the books main storyline, who have talked in a gc / irl at least once)

> he felt like a third wheel sometimes, but he honestly learnt to just deal with it growing up (and thats kinda how he became the 'leader' of the group, bc sapnap n george realized that they were kinda neglecting their friend for each other and yeahh)

> dream coerced techno into helping him set up the two on a blind date (with puppy dog eyes techno just cant say no to those) and voila, you can figure out where it goes from there

do schlatt / lc / jack l'manifold / niki / minx exist here?:
> well, of course they do! just cuz they dont make an appearance doesnt mean i just murdered them off or something
> schlatt is wilburs cousin (see now you cant do shit) and minx's bsf. lol also the lc is in a chaotic kind of relationship (they havent rlly figured it out, which is expected of them cuz theyre in college. schlatt i hc to be demi-ace, and hes not really part of the lc's.. thing.)

whats with you making so many filler chapters that dont seem to relate to the story?:
> like i said at the beginning of this chapter thing, you dont really know what happens in a persons life
> there'll always be small things that dont really relate to whats exactly happening around you sprinkled into text conversations, and a lot of the time, these small conversations make people feel a lot better about their current situations.
> i wanted to try to incorporate the feeling of uncertainty into the story, because you dont know what will happen next, just like in real life. my goal with this book was to make it as realistic and relatable as possible. a lot of shit happens in life and people forget things, and its often uncommon for people to bring up old news happening in texting. this sort of thing makes for a rather hard to follow storyline, unlike a sort of third person limited story thats set solely in the real world like, for example, "direct action" by @maggiewritestrash (which btw is a really good dreamno story). its direct (haha get it cuz the title-) and to the point, which this is not.

no, i really didnt know what the fuck i was doing esp cuz this was supposed to be my comfort book that literally just blew up outta nowhere

right, i think thats it? if you have any more questions do comment them down below n ill answer them, either in a reply of my own or in another paragraph on this small little extra finale chapt. i might make some final oneshot chapters of characters you guys want to see more of, but this is  the official finale of mistaken messages. thank you guys for sticking along and reading, because i had so much fun writing this book. nothing i say will be able to express my gratitude properly, but i want to say a big  thank you to all of you.

p.s. im sorry for any discomfort that i may have caused to anybody / any one group of people, for i didn't intend for any of that to happen. if i am asked to take this down by the ccs included, i will. if techno or dream ends up expressing their dislike for ships involving them, i will also be taking this book down.
