Chapter 6 - The confrontation
At the Linevils' Lair
"Someone help me!" cried Aria, as she lied on the cold floor of the dungeons, arms tied with metal chains, preventing her from escaping the already locked cell where she appeared to have been sleeping in for two days.
"Please, I don't know where I am, I don't have anyone, just let me go! Please!" she cried a little more.
"I don't understand why people do this." said a deep voice from the far darkness of the cell, "If they have been locked up, it isn't surely to be freed when asked politely."
"Who's there?" asked Aria, squinting her eyes to see clearer in the dark.
"Someone who is very annoyed with your incessant yelling." continued the voice.
"How do you expect me to do otherwise with these chains?" blurted Aria, astounded by the voice's rudeness.
"Breaking out of one's chains is better than shouting for help from those who chained us in the first place," retorted the voice.
"If it was that easy you would have broken your chains already. I suppose you're wearing them too," stated Aria, still unable to distinguish him in the dark.
"I do. And I haven't broken them already because I simply don't want to," replied the voice dryly.
"Who wouldn't want to be free from these chains?" asked Aria, surprised by the voice's answer.
"It is because you're as chained in freedom as in captivity," breathed the faceless man. "People like you spend their time reminiscing their past, crying for each and every thing, waiting for someone else to act for you, when in fact, you could have done it yourself," he scoffed.
"How dare you judge me, you don't even know me or what I've endured!" exclaimed Aria.
"Am I wrong?" asked the voice.
Aria paused and remained calm for some seconds before answering, "Maybe your right. But it doesn't make you less than a rude little prick."
"Glad to be." replied the voice sarcastically with a sigh.
"Hey" called Aria
"What?" bawled the voice.
"What happened to you?" she asked emphatically.
"I am sleepy. Leave me alone."
"No, I mean, how did you end up here?"
"It's a long story. Let's just say that I deceived important people, challenged the law and broke a promise."
"That one sure was long." ironised Aria, rolling her eyes.
"Shut up."
"With pleasure."

Two hours later, three minions came to take both prisoners from the cell. Aria was scared at first but forgot all of it when she saw his face. The face associated with the deep voice of the cell. He was tall and muscular, though unkempt and scruffy. He had that brooding look that was hidden behind a mass of untidy black hair. His dark green eyes mesmerized her. But she decided to not give in to his charm, she was strong and he was a jerk. She decided to concentrate on her survival rather than on her cell partner.
"The lords want to see you." barked a stocky minion. "Don't you dare raise your voice to them. They are the greatest lords of all the-"
"Blah, blah, blah" mocked the dark-haired boy as he rolled his eyes. "Why don't you kill me already, you'll spear me of your never-ending kiss-ass of a speech."
