Starting Over

The next two weeks drag each hour passing ever so slowly. Hunter still not taking my rejection and Bria still trying to talk me into trying again with him. It truly calls for a lunch date with my dad.
Growing up my dad was always my go to parent, Bria was a complete mummy's girl which left me and my dad. He would take me to football matches, taxi me to any clubs and most importantly our monthly lunch date which started in high school right through to now. He would collect me from work or school and we would head to our favourite little cafe for a burger and milkshake.
Bria knew about it and was often offered to join us however burgers and milkshake weren't her thing she preferred shopping trips with mum only with dads bank card and that's what worked for us.

I relax into the cafe booth as my dad places a milkshake in front of me

"What's troubling you angel ? You don't seem quite like yourself"

My dad asks soon as he slides into the booth I stay quiet as I decide if I should tell him or not.

"Well dad i've met someone but I don't know if it's too soon and I'm not sure I can handle another relationship right now"

"Well how do you feel while you're with him"

"Well he takes care of me but I've not spent long enough with him to make a decision on how I feel."

I explain

"Well if he treats you right and your heart wants him then go for it and if not then there's plenty more guys out there. Just follow your heart sweetie"

And with that I know it's the end of the discussion. Boys aren't his favourite topic when it comes to me. He begins telling me about work and the latest gossip about the men from the poker club he attends. I gladly welcome the distraction.

When he drops me back at work as I make my way to my desk Kelly runs to me

"Okay okay you did not tell me your man was THE Hunter Steele the guy owns the best clubs"

I look at her confused how did she know. She smirks

"A special delivery came"

She sings leading me round to my desk where a huge vase of flowers are sitting along with an pink envelope Kelly waits eagerly for me to open it.

"I need to get back to work I'll deal with it later"

I say pulling out my chair

"No no no. He personally delivered it and I promised him that I would make it soon as you got back from your lunch date"

I shake my head... wait did she tell him it was a lunch date with my dad?

"Kelly did you say it was a lunch date with my dad ?"

She smirks and shakes her head

"Nope and I thought steam was going to come out his ears! I just said lunch date"

We both laugh as we imagine just how annoyed he will be.

"But babes you know you're my bestie but you really need to call this guy. He stood in this office with that big bouquet like a lost little puppy"

I shake my head and turn around starting up my computer and getting on with my work. Another hour passes and the temptation takes over and I grab the envelope Kelly is beside me in a flash with causes us both to laugh. 4 tickets fall out I put them aside and read the note.

Please can we start over. I'm sorry for pestering you if you do not reply to this I will stop. Here are 4 tickets to the grand opening of my new club 'Envy' it opens Saturday night.
I would love to see you in person for me to explain the Kelsey situation I promise I was not with her or planning to be with her Billy just thought we would be a good match. Please call me.

Kelly lets out a scream and grabs the tickets drawing attention to us. I quickly grab her back down into her chair and she covers her mouth

"Yes Arabella we are going I've entered so many competitions to try and win tickets to this place the waiting list is huge."

I roll my eyes

"Can we focus on Hunter for a minute what do I do"

I ask her however she just shrugs her shoulders and continues to look at the tickets. My dads advice to follow my heart comes back to mind.
Do I go to this club opening and hear him out or not. I have 2 days to decide.
