*Just so you all know, you have this amazing plot because pigsteak is an amazing and creative in-human being, so make sure to follow her. Also, this chapter is mostly Stanley and Wade filler, so... sorry! The ending is important though so please don't skip.*

*Wades POV a week later*

"Hey Wade?" Stanley asks, standing in the doorway of my apartment.
"Yeah?"
"Can I-I wanted to ask you-" he stutters for another second and I pretend it doesn't remind me of Peter. "Ah, I'm no good at this... would you maybe want to be my boyfriend, Wade?"
"Sure." I say immediately, and he looks surprised.
"Really? I was kinda worried that you didn't actually like me." He laughs awkwardly. "I mean, I guess I don't know you well enough to know if you're this noncommittal all the time but-"
"My boyfriend is in a coma, and I'm not going to wait for him." I interrupt. "I like you and I want to date you. I'm sorry if I seem numb sometimes."
All the time. You seem numb all the time you fucking robot.
"It's ok, I'm sorry to hear that." Stanley gives me a hug which I pretend to enjoy. "I'll call you tomorrow?"
"Ok."
"Goodnight Wade, sleep well."
"Goodnight Stanley."

*Time skip to their one-month anniversary*

"Happy anniversary baby!" Stanley surprises me at my work.
"What are you doing here?" I ask in a quick whisper, as though I didn't know he would show up at my cafe today.
"I came to surprise you!" He gives me a quick kiss over the counter.
"I think you just want free coffee." I joke dryly and he grins.
"That would be nice, yeah. But I actually wanted to give you your present!"
"You didn't have to get me anything!" I cry, pretending to be astonished.
"I know, I wanted to. When can you break?"
"Just give me five minutes, I'll meet you outside."
"Can you grab me one of the-"
"Pumpkin cookies?" He always asks for them. "Sure."
"Thanks baby." He blows me a kiss. "See you in a few."
"Charlie, I'm taking off early today!" I shout as I walk to the back, untiring my apron.
"I don't even know who you are!" The old man groans, and hands me a three-hundred dollar check.
"It's not payday, Charlie."
"What's payday?"
So we're ripping off old people now. Great, we've sunk to a new low.
"Please be quiet." I hiss.
"Eh?"
"Nothing. See you tomorrow Charlie."
I meet Stanley outside with a pumpkin cookie for each of us and I tell him that my boss gave me the rest of the day off. Tying a blindfold around my eyes, we drive to somewhere as I get lost in thought.
"So, what's this mystery gift?" I try to sound interested. Nothing really interests me anymore.
"I know you said you didn't want anything, but..." he removes the mask. "Tada!" My favorite restaurant, Yummo's, has been closed since before Peter went under, and I haven't been able to visit.
"They're open again?" I say, genuinely surprised.
"Yes!" He exclaims. "I got you your old booth and everything."
"Thank you Stanley, this is amazing."
It is amazing. Why am I not happy?
"I'm sure whatever you got me is cooler then dinner."
"Not even close." I let him give me a quick kiss as I try to remember what I bought him... was it cologne? Or was that what I got Weasel for his birthday? Never mind, I guess we'll see when he opens it.
He opens it as soon as we've ordered, and I remember "Oh yeah! I got him tickets to that show with the Avengers... why did I do that?
"What-babe. You didn't." He cries, tearing up.
"Box seats, right next Iron Man and the Captain."
"But honey you hate the avengers!"
"What? No I don't." I'm confused.
Us too...
"Well you always avoid them at crime scenes, and I saw that you have, like, three unanswered texts and a bunch of phone calls from Stark Tower, where the Avengers meet. Why don't you like them?"
"Why were you on my phone?" I ask, like that's what I care about right now.
"You fell asleep before me and your phone was ringing so I grabbed it but it was too late to answer and I saw that you'd had a bunch of phone calls from the same number so I googled it... I'm sorry if that was weird."
"It sounds like something Peter would do."
"Who's Peter?" He suddenly goes tense.
"My ex boyfriend." I almost cry just saying that. "The one in the hospital. I'm paying his bills, and he lived in Stark Tower. That's why I get calls from them."
"Oh." He goes quiet and we eat dinner silently, the awkwardness enhanced by the laughter of those around us.
"Thanks for dinner." I say when I leave his apartment later that night.
"You're not staying?" He asks sleepily.
"No, I should get home. I had a long day."
"Oh." He's too out of it to remember I spent the day with him. "You sure?"
"Positive. Goodnight babe." I leave without another word.
That was harsh.
"I know." I whisper. "I feel bad enough, please don't goad next any further."
The only thing keeping us here is you, Wade.
"It's not me!" I shout, scaring a homeless guy awake.
"You alright man?" He asks groggily.
"No I'm a horrible person." I snarl and run towards my apartment.
"Well alright..." I hear him mumble.
If it's not your fault, who is it?
"Peter! It's Peter's fault!"
Nothing you do is Peter's fault you fucking asshole.
Wake up, Wade! When are you going to realize that he's alive because of you!
If it wasn't for you, they would have pulled the plug and called it a John Doe.
"Because of me he'll wake up Peter Parker, but never Spiderman again."
Is that such a bad thing?
"It's Spidey I fell in love with, not Peter."
You can't have one without the other.
"...you can now."

Peter POV

"He's waking up! Get nurse Kelly in here, someone call Wade!"
There's so many voices and bright lights... my head is spinning trying to take it all in.
They keep repeating one name, one name I remember.
"Wade..."
"Wade!" I sit up too fast and blow chunks acros my sheets, making the doctors gasp. "Where's Wade Wilson?"
