Peter's POV

I open my eyes slowly after what feels like a lifetime of sleep. I've never been so eager to start swinging from buildings again. I carefully stand up, taking in my surroundings. I'm in a nice bedroom, clearly not lived in. It's hotel clean, with big bed wall-sized bookshelves and tall windows. I go over and pull off a book I recognise, and the whole shelf shifts, revealing a staircase. Upon further inspection, there is no other way out of the room.
Well. Except the window.
I head down the stairs, lights coming on as I pass them. I look down and watch my feet follow the path of the steps.
Something feels different. I can't put a finger on what.
And then I remember.
Next to the bed I slept in, in the room I woke up in, there was a wheelchair with spiderman decals on the rims of the tires.
My wheelchair.
"I can walk?" I stare down at my legs, barely noticing that I'm crying.
"Congratulations, Pete." I look up to see Norman Osborn, a man who was something of an uncle to me until he died.
He died almost a year ago.
"Norman?"
"It's me."
"But you're dead."
"You of all people should know death isn't permanent!" He laughs, clapping me on the shoulder, just like he used to. I pull him towards me, hugging him tightly. "Come on now." He says, holding me against his chest. "You didn't miss me that much, did ya?"
"I did. I really did." I'm sobbing now and I pull away to wipe my tears. "Sorry..."
"Peter, a Stark never apologizes for his emotions."
I freeze.
I must be dreaming.
I'm going insane.
"Dad?"
"Hi Pete."
"Dad?" I turn around and see my dads smiling at me, Steve Dad standing with open arms. "Dads?"
"Don't just stand there, give us a hug." Steve beckons.
I run over with no hesitation and wrap my arms around them both.
"You're dead." I comment as Tony rubs my back and Steve tangles his fingers in my hair.
"Death isn't permanent, underoos." Tony reminds me.
I can't even complain about him calling me that. I've missed those silly nicknames. When I pull away, if only to look at them and maybe pinch myself, I hear another voice behind me.
"Hello Spider."
"Uncle Strange!" I spin around and throw my arms and newly usable legs around him, holding on tight.
"How are you more excited to see me than your dads?" He chuckles in that sweetly condescending was of his.
"You always were his favorite uncle." Bucky says from somewhere beside me. I drop off of Stephan and hug him.
"Hey wolf cub." He sings as he spins me around.
"I'm dead." I realize. "That's how this is happening. I'm dead." I look at my dads, still crying. "How am I dead?"
"You are not dead, child."
I run to him, hesitating only to bow before hugging him. "I missed you T'Challa..."
"I have missed you as well."
"So..." I pause a second to see if any other dead people are going to appear. "Are you all from the multiverse or something."
"Not quite." Norman says.
"I built them for you."
I turn slowly.
"Mysterio?"
"Correct." He smiles down at me.
"I killed you!" I say, trying to keep my voice level.
"Not exactly. See, I've come from another earth. The Mysterio you knew was killed in after he betrayed you. I have done nothing to deserve your obvious hatred."
I take a step back.
"Peter, there are things you do not understand." Tony assures me. "He's given you an amazing opportunity. He gave you back your back your legs-"
"After taking them away, of course. One cannot gain without first experiencing loss!"
"You were responsible for those explosions?" I can't stop my voice from shaking now. "You stole spiderman from me. You killed my dads!"
"Only so I could give them back to you." He winks. "With a few added friends, of course."
"You're a monster." I literally spit at him, which he does not seem to appreciate.
"You may hate me now, Peter Parker, but something inside of you knows you have to do what I say."
"Come on, Quentin, don't-"
"Steve." T'Challa places a hand on his chest. "Perhaps we should let him speak to the child alone."
"I'm his father, for gods sakes." I've never seen him so angry.
"Beck, if you hurt him-" Tony starts, but Stephan shuts him up.
"Let's go back to the suit." He gives me a brief hug that I barely feel. "We'll see you later tonight."
"Wait-" But he teleports away before I can say anything else.
"See you at dinner, underoos." Tony hugs me tightly, then Steve, who presses a kiss to my forehead. Gods how I missed that.
T'Challa salutes me before following my dads. Everyone else follows suit, except for Bucky.
"Wolf cub." He says quietly. "Meet me in the library after dinner. There is much he will not tell you. You will have many questions. I will help you find your answers."
"Thank you." I say, hugging him before he leaves.
"Ok." I turn to Quentin. "Tell me everything."

Wade's POV

"Weasel!" I shout, bursting into the bar and making all the customers stare at me. "Where are you, I need fatherly assistance."
I don't think they're staring at me, now that I really look around the packed full bar. They're looking at the avengers I've brought with me. Hulk is transformed and waiting in the doorway, Thor and Loki are fully costumed and Gammora has her blades out.
"What are you doing, Wade?" Weasel hisses from behind the bar. "Bringing Avengers here? It was bad enough when you started towing Spiderfreak behind you, but this-"
"Spiderfreak has been selected to be Venoms newest host." I interrupt, shocking him into silence.
"I thought we were holding him down with Norman until-"
"Obviously he's decided not to be an upstanding citizen." I roll my eyes and bathe myself in sarcasm to disguise how scared I am.
Weasel sees right through me "I'll call Empanine."
"Thank you..." I sit down on the edge of some guys table.
A few minutes later, Weasel comes back with a duffel bag. "Em's on his way, and I'm all set. Where do we go first?"
"Hyde Park." I tell him. "That's where Peter was when John took him."
"John?"
"Johnny Storm." Thor informs him.
"Weren't they supposed to have a date?"
"He tricked us." Loki says. "Lured him there with the promise of rekindling their old romance. Then he drugged him somehow and took him where Venom is hiding." He looks around the room, full of mercs and dealers and unsavoury. "If anyone knows where we can find Venom, it would be endlessly helpful."
"I know where he hides." A girl pipes up. "I did the job of finding Johnny Storm."
"Widow..." I turn slowly. "What do you want in return?"
"Why should she want anything?" Gammora asks. "If she tells us we will not kill her. What more reward can you ask?"
"How about removal from the most wanted list?" She winks.
"Done." Thor shouts. "Now tell us where that parasite hides."

Thor's POV

"We are not doing get help." Loki refuses. We're fully disguised, in the elevator down to the penthouse suits where Venom and his army(?) are staying.
"We have to, it always works."
"It's humiliating!"
"It's funny, dear, come now."
"It's not funn-"
The doors open and he collapses onto my arm with a sharp moan.
"Help!" I shout earnestly, scooping him up bridal style and rushing towards the group of security guards standing in the main lobby. "Get help! It's my brother! He's sick or something, please!"
The guards rush over and I heave Loki at them, knocking them all to the ground.
"I hate getting help." He says, standing up after we've rendered them all unconscious.
"It's funny!" I boom, jogging down the hallway.

Loki's POV

It's not funny for me.
