After the apprehension test, we were allowed some time to learn each other's names and socialize. In Hizashi's class, we played a brutal game of name recall. The rules were as such: Everyone would stand up and Hizashi would shout a classmate's name, then they'd have five seconds to shout another classmate's name. People whose names had been called sat down and if you couldn't remember any names or the person whose name you shouted was down, you were out. The last one standing wins.

To no-one's surprise, it was chaos, but the competitive nature certainly helped me learn! By the end of Monday, I had pretty much everyone's name down pat! However, it was Tuesday before things really got interesting! At 11:40am on the dot, the door slid open at an alarming rate and All Might poked his head in, "I AM COMING THROUGH THIS DOOR... like a normal person!"

He grinned broadly, "Now, usually we'd jump straight into hero training, but, with the sole exception of Y/N, you don't have hero costumes yet! That is why we shall use this 50 minute period to design our costumes!"

Everyone's heads turned to me and I folded my arms in front of my chest with a pout, "It's not my fault that dad trains me sometimes!"

All Might indicated that we were free to talk now and questions immediately flooded in. Kirishima was in awe, "You already have a hero costume?! That's so manly!"

Whereas some were more restrained, like Iida, "Excuse me, but who is your father? I might have heard of him if he's a hero."

I looked around the entire class, already trusting that my fellow to-be-heroes wouldn't make fun of me, and proudly announced, "My father is none other than the number 3 pro hero, Winged Hero: Hawks!"

After a fair bit of chin-stroking, Kaminari piped up, "But isn't your quirk Puppet or something?"

I shrugged, "Puppeteer, actually, and yes, our quirks don't match. He adopted me a few years ago after my parents died."

Naturally, a few classmates discretely searched up my name, trying to find out how my parents died. However, when they saw the numerous articles, their phones were quickly back in their pockets and shock entered their expressions at my happy smile. One such person, whose identity I won't disclose, even asked, "Hey, L/N, do you know how they died?"

I shook my head, "I have absolutely no clue, but it's intentional! Let's say a villain killed them, I don't think I would be able to stop myself from hunting them down... So it's honestly better for everyone involved!"

In an attempt to shift the conversation away, Mina grinned and high-fived me, "Well done with the Cutter's arrest, too! I read all about it online!"

I laughed as my classmates drifted back into their seats, content to resume brainstorming and designing their costumes, "Thanks, but I wouldn't have been able to do it alone!"

After another minute or so of chatting, Mina began gushing about her costume. I helped her with a few things she was unsure about, then left her to sketch it in peace. I generally stayed silent, allowing my classmates to think, and occasionally giving advice. At some point, Shoto even walked up to me, "Should I make my left eye glow red when I'm in my costume?"

I snorted with laughter, "If it helps you sleep better at night, I'm all for it!"

He rolled his eyes, then sat down at his desk again. As more and more finished, conversations started up again and I could almost see the friend groups beginning to establish themselves right before my eyes.

~~Timeskip~~

After lunch, we had hero training again, and we'd been told to get into our PE uniforms and meet All Might on the training field. Once we'd all assembled in one large mass, All Might had us all partner up. Unfortunately, no one wanted to partner with Mineta, but he was oddly okay with just watching from the sidelines. All Might then announced what we were doing, "Whoever you're paired up with will be your partner for this game! You may choose whether to spar or do a rescue scenario, but you must inform me of what you'll be doing first!"

Eventually, only 4 pairs wanted to spar: Me vs Shoto, Bakugo vs Kirishima, Asui vs Tokoyami, and Midoriya vs Uraraka. The last two pairs seemed quite hesitant to spar in earnest, whereas the first two were eagerly awaiting a fun bout. All Might quickly organized the rescue groups, then left them to their devices and supervised the sparring matches. I groaned as I looked around, "Shoto, this is unfair! We're in an open space!"

A few of my classmates stumbled at my use of Shoto's first name, but quickly recovered. He rolled his eyes, then got into his battle stance, "How unfortunate. Would you like to call the match off?"

I bared my teeth as almost invisible strings attached themselves to him, their use covered by the smooth movement into my own battle stance. All Might whistled and I instantly began pulling on Shoto's limbs. Only the first few ice barrages were thrown off course before he adjusted, then I retracted my strings and began running. I used his ice as cover to circle around him, then pulled myself over the ice wall he'd erected behind him by shortening threads.

He turned just in time to see me slam into his back, twist his arm around and lock it in place, and pin him to the ground. Threads slid over his body, loosely wrapping around him, then tightened. He glared at me, "You've been training, haven't you!?"

I grinned as I got up, leaving him tied up on the floor, "Of course I have! What else would I have been doing?"

He mumbled something under his breath as I picked him up and slung him over my shoulder, then walked into sight. I untied him, then set him on his feet, "Shoto, take down your ice attacks after you've executed them, but only if they don't serve another purpose. That specifically allowed me to get behind you."

Shoto nodded, then I tilted my head and mimed a punch. He dipped his head and we moved a bit further away, then our martial arts contest began. Neither of us used our quirks, only our bodies and our skills. Unfortunately for me, he'd been doing martial arts for much longer than me, so I was gradually accumulating bruises all over my body. Once we finished, we each had an appropriate amount of injuries and conversed quietly on the way to and from Recovery Girl's office.

But Recovery Girl had a mind of her own.

The moment she heard what we said, she laughed almost evilly, "They're just bruises and you knew what you were getting into! I'm sure you'll survive!"

Needless to say, I had a painful week.
